Atmosphere!

This place is nice since it is more classy than all the brewery type pubs you have in Ann Arbor. I've been here multiple times, for drinks mainly. Nice cocktails, and I really like the place, it's more sophisticated.

We went to the black pearl and had a nice dinner. We asked for a split check and everyone got charged for the full check plus their portion. The charges were exponential as you can imagine. Multiple calls to their management. They are SO busy and will follow up tomorrow ... Have to get their accountant involved ... Lots of... More

I live in Ann Arbor and have been to at least 90% of the restaurants here. Ann Arbor is a community of restaurants with a city around them (and a university too)! Seriously... a ton of restaurants. I just ate at Black Pearl for the first time and was blown away by how great it was. The service was excellent... More

Some food is great other misses the mark. I have the service to be fairly spotty as well. Sometimes decent, other times terrible. Perhaps go here for a drink and then move on.

My wife and I stopped here for dinner on her birthday. The food was absolutely amazing, I recommend trying the ketchup (yeah that's right). The only downside to this was that they were so busy with inside and outside seating that it took a while for our server to make it back to us.

Eight of us went to the Black Pearl for drinks and dinner on Friday night. The martinis were excellent with a wide assortment of choices. Their seafood tacos are apparently their specialty and four of us ordered them. They were really good, but I have had better at The Funky Pelican and The Ale House. We sat near the window... More

The owner was there the night I was there, personally overseeing things and he even cleared my plate. Classy spot, nice patio with good people watching on Main Street. Staff was nice, and waiter remembered my friend from a previous meal there. I liked my millionaire mojito. I got scallops for dinner. The cream sauce on the rice (cous cous?... More

Our greeters were very warm and friendly. We where ushered to our table where we ordered our drinks. My husband is not an adventurer with food and drinks, therefore, he had a beer. I had a spicey drink with cucumber, cilantro and Tabasco sauce. It was very good. Our appetizer of guacamole and chips , the guacamole being bland. On... More

Although the restaurant was fully booked the most accommodating hostess offered to give us a table making clear we'd need to be out before the people who had reserved it would be there. We decided to eat at the bar, which proved an equally good choice. Tony, the bartender, was as attentive and helpful as anyone could have been, all... More
