Seem to be lots of locals of all age groups eating there. I ordered a hoagie with the salad bar. The $1.99 salad bar add-on was a good deal. A small plate to load with the usual stuff, plus two kinds of soup. More than I expected for 2 bucks. Then the giant $8 hoagie showed up. Again, more than... More

The food here was decent, and the staff was extremely friendly. However, the decor was questionable at best. There are dozens of mounts in every corner of this restaurant. Its not exactly appetizing looking at dead stuff while you are eating.

Great pizza, enjoy the pizza- salad bar. Good food wide variety on menu, prices good. Cool displays of animals that have been preserved. Service is a bit lacking, but tolerable.

Stopped in here for pizza and a beer to catch the soccer game. Great deep dish pizza. Interior could use some updating!

JJ's is a decent place to have pizza in Alpena. The service was just OK the first time we visited on a recent trip. There were some low life's in the bar that were using loud profanity etc. and seemed to be friends of the wait staff. Uncool. The second time around we sat at a table and our server... More

I was here a year ago and food and service were good so of course I recommended it when a large group of us returned. On our first night the server was rude and we seemed to be an imposition for her. We were a group of 7 and only had two rounds of drinks and a appetizer before deciding... More

JJ's has consistant food. The service is good and you always run into someone you know there. It is a local gathering place.

One night when John Lau's was closed we looked across the street to the bustling restaurant in the stone building and wandered inside. What we found was a packed, but still comfortable setting with families and friends enjoying mostly pizza and the fascinating up-north decor of stuffed wild animals. I am a bit of a pizza snob, and the pizzas... More

This establishment serves breakfast till 14:00 (2pm). I had the "Undecided" which consists of; two eggs cooked to order, choice of either two pancakes or to pieces of French Toast, two sausages and two strips of applewood bacon. Service was excellent and I was pleased to hear other customers echo their satisfaction throughout my stay. Despite being busy ticket times... More
