Really good beef and good value set menu. Note that the menu for lunch and dinner is different. Good, if a little slow, service and nice little open courtyard you can sit in. It gets a little sun in the day time and you can just chill there.

Had the menu del dia at La Taverne and each of the four dishes had some great flavours. The fillet steak main course with fresh pasta was particularly good. At $45B it is not the cheapest set lunch in Sucre but the quality of food and the presentation justified the price.

I randomly chose this place for dinner and was very pleasantly suprised. I opted for the beef massaman curry which was very tasty. The portion to me was pretty substantial & I left barely able to move! I guess it didnt help that I scoffed an entire basket of the complimentary bread to start; I couldnt help it, the bread... More

We went to this restaurant in potosi and probably had our best meal in Bolivia. Unfortunately this restaurant in sucre did not match the same standard. They had completely ran out of sirloin steak leaving only Bolivian fillet. This steak was nowhere near as good as before. There was not enough waitresses or waiters and one poor girl was run... More

La Taverne serves great food at ridiculous prices. They get the 4 stars only because dessert isnt as incredible as the main. We went back twice for the beef massaman curry - it's spicy but so good!!

We went here for my girlfriends birthday and were expecting it to be more expensive than other places due to being a bit more 'fancy' but the wine and food were both cheaper than other places we'd tried and were excellent. They have a great range of steaks all cooked to perfection and a good range of wines and liqueurs... More

Beautiful food for a really decent price. Really really impressed. Portions are not huge, perhaps a starter is required for a big eater? Lovely bread and dips to start and a great wine list. Highly reccomend

Wow! Didn't know Bolivia could do meals this well. It was amazing - the meat was cooked beautifully (though I think I got my partners steak which was medium well and I wanted medium. It was medium but his was undercooked esp when compared to mine). So check your meat when it arrives as you may need to get it... More

This is good food, and by local standards excellent food. It is well cooked and presented. The only criticism I had was that the plates were stone cold, and hence the food did not stay hot long enough. We had their excellent reserve Chardonnay to wash the food down The atmosphere was very good, the lighting correct, and the service... More

Small cozy friendly ambiance. It gets busy so reserve, lots of walk-ins turned away whilst I ate. Terrific food and not overly rich or heavy, unlike many French inspired restaurants. Presentation and quality comes close to international fine dining IMHO Juice, Soup, Steak, desert and expresso came to BOB150 inc. generous tip. Well worth it
