Fancy Shmancy in Bolivia

We thought we had died and gone to heaven. I had the beef filet steak with blue cheese sauce and returned another night to repeat it. The staff was great, the price for the meal was a real bargain. I left my coat there the 1st time I ate there and when I returned the maitre de pulled it out... More

My partner had the argentinan steak. I had the mignon. Both were very tasty. The wine sauce was a little strong. Veg was cold so not sure if thats the norm here. In terms of the prices its expensive when compared to other restaurants but the dishes are of a high quality. We had a lovely bottle of merlot. Starters... More

The menue has a big choice and what we ordered was cooked very well! The portions are not really big and the prices a bit more expensive than in most bolivian restaurants.

This is a nice cosy restaurant not far from the square. The service is better than most places we went. The food overall was good but they could improve some aspects. I had the steak with red wine and mushrooms. The steak was very well cooked but the red wine sauce was overly acidic. The biggest issue I had with... More

This place was amazing the best food, I had a steak and I would say it is the best steak I have ever had in my life. The price was great for the food I would love to go back again. The staff were really friendly.

I went to their branch in Potosi but this restaurant in Sucre is even better. The restaurant has a better ambience ans is more upmarket. The menu is virtually the same offering a good selection of European dishes with a strong French influence. I chose a seafood dish as an entree and pasta with seafood as a main. Both were... More

Coming from Uyuni where pizza, pizza, pizza is the top menu choice, we were looking forward to meat and vegetables. We arrived early to La Taverne took our time with the menu and wine list. The menu is printed in both Spanish and English enough for us to comprehend. Our male waiter was fantastic, giving us great service as well... More

While backpacking through South America a group of ten of us stumbled upon this gem and ate here twice because of the melt in your mouth steaks and reasonable priced adult beverages. Wishing I could go back now!!
