we went to this restaurant because the good reviews on tripadvisor. After 10 weeks of traveling in s america we wanted something different. The meals are nice, big with influence from austria/german. The ambiance was a little bit formal, staff friendly but not very dedicated, they look a little bit tired. I liked the sauerkraut with sweinshaxse, my friend liked... More

I have almost 3 months living in Chile, and being from Venezuela makes me wanna have a good tasty meal. This hasn't been the case in general in Chile, food is insipid. But in El Austriaco they serve great food with great taste. It's served by the owners (the chef's wife gave me great pointers to order).

An amazing place to way compared to the rest of vina's restaurants. Quick and efficient service and very friendly chef who will occasionally come out and make sure that you are enjoying the time. Food is truly authentic and as my German friend said " it's almost like my grandma made it", which means a lot. Defiantly coming back for... More

I found this restaurant on Tripadvisor. After many meals of seafood, my kids were ready for a change. I ordered Wiener schnitzel and my husband had rabbit. The food was very authentic Austrian and the beers as well. The owners are very welcoming. The restaurant is small, so get a reservation for evenings. We enjoyed our meal and will be... More

I had a delicious duck confit and my husband had perfectly tender and very tasty deer, both really cooked to perfection. Desert was a great surprise as I order 'salzburger nocken' which was a delight, totally recommend it!

Thanks for Trip Advisor for sending us here for lunch. My husband was a bit reluctant, in that he thought the food might be too heavy for a summer lunch. There were plenty of choices of fish & salads for him so he was surprised and happy. I went for the smoked pork chops, which were wonderful, & finished it... More

Hubby and I just returned from a happy dinner at EL AUSTRIACO (The Austrian) after reading reviews here and we were NOT disappointed... Pictures are authentic- that's exactly what you'll be served... Old school Austrian/German/ meat and potatoes type fare with a Chilean flair run by husband and wife team who come out to say hello to you! Food was... More

At first I was unsure whether eating Austrian food in Chilean resort town is the best option. After all, I realized that it was the best selection I could make. Maybe, we were lucky, as when we came in, the restaurant was quite empty, so we could get a nice table without a reservation. Later on the place was full.... More

In Viña for a couple days with my family, we picked El Austriaco for dinner one night based entirely on Tripadvisor reviews. We weren't disappointed! It's a fairly unassuming place, but you definitely know you're in a European restaurant when you sit down. The owner and his wife run the place, and they've been in Viña for about 12 years.... More
