Rich, sumptuous flavours, unparalleled taste and texture, and a truly remarkable setting.Al Mahara, 'The Oyster Shell' in Arabic, doesn’t just tantalise your palate; it’s a dining experience that will stimulate all your senses. The stunning floor to ceiling aquarium inside the restaurant sets the scene for a meal where only the best will do. Sink into the soft seats and be mesmerised by the world of colourful sea life swimming beside your table, while our team of award-winning chefs prepare you something very special.Attention to detail is something we particularly pride ourselves on at Al Mahara. Dinner with a view.

Food - delicious , menu slightly limited and maybe pricey for mains in my opinion. The oyster starter was divine. And with it being our anniversary they even brought out a little cake which was a lovely touch. My advice would be to check how much the wine is before taking it as we got stung with... read more

We don't mind spending money on a nice meal at a nice restaurant. Al Mahara is definitely in a nice environment, set in a "7 star" hotel. When security stops your taxi and requests your reservation, you'll feel very special. You'll then come up to the opulent foyer of the Burj al Arab hotel. To get to the restaurant you... More

The service was exemplary. The setting is special due the the aquarium which is a constant visual delight. The food was pretty good but certainly not exceptional and not deserving of the prices charged. As a one off knowing it will be pricey it's ok but not something we would repeat.

We dinned at Al Mahara at the Burj al Arab hotel. We had very high expectations and was pleased to see the restaurants surroundings. We were taken good care of by the staff and felt welcome. When it comes to the food we were quite - not to say very - disappointed. Some of the dishes were alright however some... More

You certainly go here to experience one of the icons of the world, the rest wouldn't be worth it otherwise. On a scale from 1 to 5, 1 being the worst: Food 2 Cellar 4 Atmosphere 3 Service 4 Prices 1 Too French and not enough personality in any dish. Quite flavourless dishes -beside the omnipresent cream taste-. For what... More

This restaurant was our first choice when we booked our holidays and it was the right one. Pictures do not do justice to this beautiful restaurant. Contemplating fishes as they swim by in the huge aquarium situated in the centre of the restaurant is just amazing. Every singe dish we chose was spot on. Service was attentive and friendly, waiters... More

I took my wife here for her birthday whilst we were in Dubai. I was expecting an amazing experience, but I was very disappointed. The restaurant itself is amazing, the aquarium is stunning, it's just a shame that the food is below par, and very over priced. I've eaten at Gordon Ramsey hospital road 4 times, which is amazing, this... More

With its stunning view, it's definitely a lunch day time restaurant, or at least that what I feel it should be. Nothing much change in the place or concept since opening perhaps. While the food quality is still good, it needs a new flame, a new edge in the face of so many new exceptional establishments that evades from all... More

This restaurant is really odd. I have some mixed feelings about it. Food was very good, but price was exorbitant. The atmosphere is very fake and even the aquarium is not impressive at all. If prices were more realistic it would be a good experience, considering the hotel and the whole glamour.
