Not SO chinese anymore...

We were craving for Asian cuisine yesterday. And we decided to eat in Soy. We ordered the calamari, the chicken in garlic sauce, Pad Thai and vegetable fried rice. My dining experience tonight forced me to review this restaurant again. Completely opposite of what I've experienced on my first visit, though I visited several times after that and tonight might be my last visit to this venue if I don't hear things are change. Venue definitely needs some renovation and previous good ambiance isn't there anymore. Food portions were... More

The restaurant is located just adjacent to one side entrance of ibn Batuta mall, Dubai in the Jabel Ali area. We were told by a family friend that we must visit this place and we decided to make a try and surprisingly we had a good afternoon lunch after completing our shopping at mall. We had starters Golden prawns, crispy... More

We went last night to Soy with a few family friends, and I must say the food was great. We ordered the Sui Mai, chicken wings in black pepper sauce, papaya salad and crispy honey chicken for starters and all were a delight. Small portions though, but tasty. For the mains we had thai green curry with steamed rice, note... More

The customer service is very poor! Starters were a mess and chicken was not tasting like chicken. The manager was very rude by refusing to use our entertainment copouns and said he would speak to a higher senior, how ironic! Came back to the table saying no without giving us any other option or explanation. No one appraoched us when... More

Easily one of the better Indian-Chinese restaurants on this end of town and one which reminded me of how much I enjoy (and have missed) the Indian take on Chinese. In fact, I honestly believe Indian-Chinese warrants a category and name of its own: Indo-Chinese, Indonese, or even Chindian – yeah, Chindian. I like the sound of that. Anyway –... More

The menu looks great, but the food tastes really bad, not to mentioned it was served cold and over-cooked, i had tried this place twice during the last 2 months, and nothing changed. Actually you can get a better value for money and a better taste from any of the nearby fast-food Chinese outlets inside the Ibn Battuta Mall. I... More

Food is still ok ,though the stir fry vegetable with tofu is quite salty this time. The waiter on black uniform in batuta branch is not so friendly to the customer at all. He is so sarcastic and do not know proper customer service. But other waiters are ok. We just keep on coming because of the food, but after the... More

My husband and I were staying in the Ibn Battuta Gate Moevenpick and were looking for a restaurant nearby. We stumbled upon Soy in the China Court of the Ibn Battuta Mall. The outdoor court leading to the restaurant was beautiful and unexpected. Soy has a creative list of mocktails, which I enjoyed. For a starter, we had steamed buns.... More
