El Chico located on JBR was buzzing on a Thursday night. Rustic interiors, walls covered with authentic Mexican items and colorful lights guided us to sit inside (on a side note also made me want to go to Mexico). Pouring over the vast menu we were conflicted, we were thrilled with the helpful waitress’s recommendations. We started off with top... More

Went there with a colleague. Had the mozzarella sticks as starter, which apparently had been sitting a while in the kitchen, waiting for the waiter to be delivered to the guest. As a result, they were not really warm and the cheese itself had a weird consistency. Main food had been rejected as the beef was everything else but tender.... More

Good quality Tex-Mex food a stones throw away from the Marina Beach, we shared a main course as a quick afternoon snack together with frozen margarita and ice cold beer, non-alcoholic of course! Service was excellent

We visited with our varied family group. Aged between 4 years and 83 yrs. There was something for everyone and 6 empty plates. The service was great and nothing was too much trouble for our waitress. The food was presented quickly and fresh. We will go again. Our first restaurant on jbr. We will expect the others to meet at... More

My wife and I were strolling on JBR Beach Walk. And lo and behold... authentic mexican on the desert beached of Dubai. (If you have ever eating authentic mexican ala mamasita and hombre with a sombrero - usa-mexico border) you can spot a fake pretty fast. So catchy sign, and outdoors seating with people eating mexican.. WE WERE IN. Wonderful... More

JBR is a great place by itself to walk down. El Chico happened to catch our eyes and we dropped in for a quick meal before a late night movie at Reel. Very good place - good chips, good Burrito, very good iced teas :)

Chips and Salsa was just like Texas!!! The combo Fajitas were not over cooked and the vegetables were nice. Excellent guacamole!! Now, if only they were connected to a hotel so I could have had a margarita!!

Wish I got the server's name he was very quick with order and provided excellent service. The food was great and took me down the memory lane of eating at El Chico in the States many years ago.

Neighborhood Profile
The Marina
It’s hard to believe that only a decade ago there was no marina. Opened in 2003, the man-made marina runs along a 3km stretch of shoreline. A heady mix of luxurious hotels, apartment buildings, and cafes, the marina hosts regular community events and markets, and is a wonderful place to while away an afternoon or evening. Spectacular at night when the skyscrapers glisten, here you can enjoy dinner on the beach next to the sea, or visit a high-rise bar in a hotel for a magnificent view across the Gulf and the man-made Palm Island, with the world-famous Atlantis Hotel at its end. The Walk at Jumeirah beach Residences is a pedestrianized stretch leading to a new development: The Beach. It’s one of the few places where Gulf nationals mix with tourists and Western ex-pats. It’s a popular place to show off your supercar for an evening, so watch out for Lamborghinis, Maseratis, and Ferraris in abundance.
