Set in an idyllic Arabian ambience with Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building serving as its backdrop, Al Bayt, the Lobby Lounge at The Palace Downtown Dubai, is further elevating its charm with an array of new elements. The splendid lounge will resonate to the traditional tunes of Arabia by a live harpist, from August 26, 2pm to 6pm daily, adding to the majestic atmosphere of The Palace Downtown Dubai, a five star retreat nestled in the heart of Downtown Dubai. The mellifluous notes of violinist Olga Trifonova, a resident musician in a selection of hotels around the world including Busan in South Korea, Abu Dhabi and Dubai, will resound in the hallways of The Palace. From October 2 onwards, harpist Evelyna Markova, whose music stylings span classical, contemporary, modern, jazz, and Arabic, will perform a repertoire of songs from Europe and the Middle East, from 2pm to 6pm Al Bayt is open 24 hours.

Long waits average afternoon tea

Dubai has some wonderful places to do afternoon tea and as a huge fan of the art of tea I have tried many. This started well with it's lovely setting but the actually menu was poor. Only 4 teas to choose from, small portion of sandwiches. Scones were lovely but not warmed. We had to wait 45mins for... read more

I have not attended the restaurant myself, but I would like to comment on the fantastic service provided by Glen Pires and his colleagues at the Al Bayt. I booked the Timeless Arabic Afternoon Tea for my Mother's birthday last week and the staff at the Al Bayt went above and beyond to ensure that she had a special day.... More

Take your time and enjoy a great afternoon tea and time. But do not eat lunch on that day, because you need some space for all the delicacies offered :-) Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. What a pleasant holiday!

Saturday Afternoon Brunch Buffet Al Bayt lived up to its hype. Its impressive selection of specialty teas (hot and cold), variety of coffee and delectable bite size buffet options are something to brag about. The ambiance, spectacular view of downtown (with burj khalifa) and “palace atmosphere” adds to the appeal that is Al Bayt. But these would just be another... More
