Al Hambra is traditional Spanish eatery with an unerring knack of making you feel at home. You'd be forgiven for thinking you're in a bustling Valencian taverna - but one glance at the view of the palm-fringed canals from the terrace will remind you of your romantic Gulf location. Take your pick from a parade of colourful plates, each filled with fresh, seasonal and sometimes surprising ingredients, all served in a casual family-style setting. Try the zingy gazpacho or chorizo frito, or work your way through a delicious pile of calamari rings, king prawns, or our popular chicken and rabbit paella. Locals and travellers alike come to Al Hambra to experience not just its extensive menu of authentic tapas and rustic regional Spanish cuisine, but for its lively atmosphere too. It's a perfect setting for al fresco dining or just to enjoy the city's best sangrias (served in generous clay pitchers). We are offering 20% (twenty percent) discount for spanish nationals.

Friday brunch.

We visited last Friday with a couple we meet on holiday we had a place reserved for two and they were happy to change it to four but we had to seat out side due to the busy nature. The place was beautiful. You could go in any of the restaurants on site and sample any thing they made. Food... read more

My wife & I went for a romantic evening and really in the mood for tapas. First of all, the location in Madinat is spectacular and really a nice surrounding for a night out. We choose to sit outside just above the canal with the Burj al Arab in the background - scenery could not be better! The waiter was... More

We (my wife & I, my daughter and son-in-law) were staying at Dar Al Masyaf on a half board basis. When we entered the restaurant early in the evening we were greeted quite well and shown to our table. Because we were half board we have to hand over our vouchers which entitles us to a three course meal. It... More

Food was good and plentiful, hot and delivered occasionally promptly First course very quick and then delivery of food slowed. More than I could eat so good sized portions There was a life duo playing and this was appreciated.

Very average. Food was over cooked and and bland. We went during Jumeriah Restaurant Week and had the set menu. Chicken was over cooked, seafood salad oily and the deserts were woeful. My fruit salad and sorbet was sugar laden and the chocolate mousse was awful. The only redeeming feature was the great service and the ambience. Will not be... More

Staying in The Marina

Neighborhood Profile
The Marina
It’s hard to believe that only a decade ago there was no marina. Opened in 2003, the man-made marina runs along a 3km stretch of shoreline. A heady mix of luxurious hotels, apartment buildings, and cafes, the marina hosts regular community events and markets, and is a wonderful place to while away an afternoon or evening. Spectacular at night when the skyscrapers glisten, here you can enjoy dinner on the beach next to the sea, or visit a high-rise bar in a hotel for a magnificent view across the Gulf and the man-made Palm Island, with the world-famous Atlantis Hotel at its end. The Walk at Jumeirah beach Residences is a pedestrianized stretch leading to a new development: The Beach. It’s one of the few places where Gulf nationals mix with tourists and Western ex-pats. It’s a popular place to show off your supercar for an evening, so watch out for Lamborghinis, Maseratis, and Ferraris in abundance.
