Loved everything but the lighting

We managed to get a table outside to see the fountain display but asked to move inside after as it was freezing. Lighting as bright as a dentist's surgery. Food good and service too.

After visiting Burj Khalifa, we headed to the terrace of Mango Tree, facing the highest building in the world and a little lake that became the scene of a dancing fountain every half an hour. We enjoyed it all: nice cocktails, tasty seafood platter and other dishes plus the lights and sounds provided by Dubai fountain, as it is called.

The location of the restaurant is superb, especially if you were to get outdoor seating during a fountain show (you will likely need reservations well ahead of time for those times). Went for lunch and there were very few people in the restaurant, so a seat on the patio was easy. The food was fairly unspectacular, but not bad. Had... More

I went to Mango Tree on a recommendation to celebrate a milestone birthday! I couldn't have been more impressed, the view of the dancing fountains and the Burj were amazing and the food and service was brilliant. The food was good value and although the alcoholic drinks were expensive that is to be expected in Dubai,,,,,I would strongly recommend this restaurant.

The Mango Tree makes a wonderful green and red Thai curry, full of the flavours from the orient. The meal was very good. the only item that completely marred the experience was a British loudmouth who was obviously embarrassing his colleagues at the tables next to our group. It just made the experience a little sour.

The terrace is definitely the main feature of this restaurant, yo view the fountains and the burj khalifa The food is ok, it is of thai influence, and decently delivered, it is neither very good nor bad, ... nice or ok or average are different ways of describing the food there. same for the price, its not cheap, neither is... Ask for the outside patio at the water. It's a treat as the food is delicious and the Burj Khalifa lights up with many displays and the fountains dance to music every 30 minutes. Rather expensive but worth the money.

Not an easy restaurant to visit unless familiar with Dubai Mall, because you have to walk through the Mall to get there. Perfect place if sitting outside on the terrace to watch the musical fountain. Beautifully prepared Thai cuisine and it doesn't let you down. Ask the helpful staff what they recommend. We went with friends that live in Dubai otherwise... More

Great location, decent service, but very ordinary food ! Thai cuisine, when specifically requested to be made spicy should be really spicy ..... but then either we have to re learn spicy Thai food or this restaurant just does not know how to dish out authentic Thai fare ! One more of the many, only style, no substance outlets at... More

Is it Thai food or Asian fusion. Whatever it is. It's nice. The location provides a 100 times better and unobstructed view of the dancing fountains as compared to standing on the sidewalks crowded with thousands of people trying to look while standing on their toes. Been there done that too. I suggest turn the inhouse music off when the... More

Staying in Downtown Dubai

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown Dubai
You can’t fail to miss Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. It towers over the city and resides in the prestigious Downtown development. Once an old army base, Downtown is now the jewel in Dubai’s crown, a beautiful residential and leisure area housing not only the world’s tallest building, but the world’s largest fountains and mall. Wide marble sidewalks are perfect for strolling, with restaurants, art galleries and children’s play areas. Specially commissioned sculptures line the roads and Downtown is often used as a canvas for modern art displays and community events such as Classic Car Shows and National Day parades. In the cooler months, cross one of the many bridges to the Burj Khalifa park and enjoy a picnic alongside residents and visitors, or enjoy a lunch or dinner watch the dancing fountains. Because of its mixed use, Downtown is a fantastic place to mix with Dubai residents and locals and watch real life unfold in a cosmopolitan environment.
