Nice place to stay, just don't eat or drink here.

We had some bad luck. The first two rooms had air con machines that didn't work. The staff were really nice and changed the room for us each time. The rooms are very nice and clean. Also they had problems with the sewage system but again, it was fixed in an afternoon. The food is poor and really... read more

Travelling around Asia there are times when some more familiar 'flavours' is what you are looking for. It is very much what you might expect to find at a cheap pub in Australia though even then food options are somewhat more adventurous. By Laos standards this is an expensive place to eat but if you have kids who struggle with... More

Rustic layout and furnishings make for a very cool room to come home to after taking in the gems of Luang Prabang. A good bar with just the right level of rowdy is also there for a relaxing nightcap or if you're on holiday at the wrong time and want your live sports fix!

Luang Prabang offers some wonderful restaurants and food experiences but occasionally a burger is the best thing to accompany a cold beer. I have to say the beef burger at the Aussie Sports Bar is one if the best burgers I've had anywhere. The quality of the patty was exceptional. I'm still thinking about it! A well run establishment with... More

I had a really nice burger here, personally think it was over priced but I needed it after 3 months of SE Asian food! Me and my girl friend had good experience here, but the group of friends I was with had the wrong meals cooked but ate them any way as they took ages to prepare the meal. But... More

Thankyou for your review and pleased you enjoyed your burger. Sorry about the delay in serving and the mix up in some meals. Unfortunately we were away on our annual holidays at the time and the kitchen does not perform at 100% in our absence. Anyway it seems that the free shots and potato cakes made up for that and... i really like this place despite the somewhat off putting name. Order a large beer and it comes in an ice bucket to keep the beer cold,a very nice touch. Good place to watch the world go by!

We popped in here for a meal and to see a football match, the Aussie burger I had was excellent, my girlfriends chicken Parmesan was great, however the 'golden to perfection' chips/fries were definitely not as advertised - some of mine were fine, others had that 'mushy' interior that you dont really want on your plate. The staff seemed fine,... More

Thankyou for your review and pleased that and your friend enjoyed our Hamburger and Chicken Parmi. They are our two biggest sellers. My apologies regarding the chips. On the night we were very busy in the kitchen and they may not have been cooked enough trying to get meals out quickly. Your comments about closing etc. need clarification. Our bar... More

Long short short: I waited too long to book accommodation in Luang Prabang, and arrived during Chinese New Year when everything was full. I mean everything. I sent dozens of emails and walked around for hours looking for one room - nothing. By 10 PM, I was getting nervous. The manager at Aussie Bar went above and beyond by asking... More

Went here to try the burgers on the recommendation of a friend and I was not disappointed! I had the veggie burger which is rare to find a good one in Lao but it was great. To top it off we had good service from the friendly waiting staff and a decent price! The only off-putting thing of the restaurant... More

Excellent food which was actually better than I've had in Australia ! Unsure at first because there were no patrons compared to surrounding restaurants, which soon changed once we sat & ordered. Very nice staff, attentive & hospitable - really enjoyed it 😊
