Brilliant breakfast!!! Every morning .....followed by Laos coffee and a jam baguette. Monks chanting in the background. Just perfect. This is a beautiful place to quietly watch the Luang Prabang world wake up to greet the day !

The best place to enjoy genuine french pastries and a fresh orange juice or coffee, less so for lunch. The crêpe complète was a failure, no buckwheat and undercooked.

Excellent café. I went twice for ham baguettes and coffee in the mornings and also again for wild boar pate with bread, onion jam and salad, (very tasty). I can't get decent bread or ham where I am in Goa, so this is a treat for me. I make my own pate at home. Nice surroundings and clean with efficient... More

Nice cafe, really well done out. One pastry (Danish) was excellent and the other a bit bland. Good coffee and hot chocolate. Cafe atmosphere.

The Banneton is towards the end of the peninsula and away from the 'busier' ( I use this word with my tongue in my cheek) end of town. It does, without question make the best bread in town but also a range of pastries ad cakes and some lovely breakfasts including crepes and galettes. The coffee is not the best... More

Coffee the only downside. They don't quite get it. Other than that......pretty good. We have been several times, eaten in and taken away. Staff pleasant and competent. Food good though the bagettes seem to toughen as the day progresses. Nice toilets. Slightly off the beaten track but worth the effort

Le Banneton is worth visiting just for the pastries and bread. We bought pastries on multiple occasions and they were always good, though when they were fresh and warm they were incredible. We also had coffee and lunch at Le Banneton and everything was fresh and good. While worth visitng for a meal, the pasties are what really set Le... More

Just walked in and tried to order breakfast. Greeted with a scowl by this mean man and when I asked to replace a muffin on a set menu, he told me I could have something else that was SMALL. He walked to the counter, shaking his head and came back with an even meaner frown. I walked away. There are... More

It still is the best place to get your fix of European breads. I always come here and to its Vientiene branch.

This very authentic place has an old colonial feel, with fantastic pastries and excellent coffees. The croissant, pain au chocolat and baguettes are incredible. Great way to start the day in this heavenly relaxing town. Went here repeatedly for 7 days.
