Yummy

Great food and coffee in a great city. I'm not the biggest coffee fan, but they had some tasty stuff. Had each of our party get different drinks to try. I wasn't disappointed! Great pastries as well.

We stopped in here for a snack. Admittedly, the food that we ordered (some fried rice and some pastries) were pretty good and the lemon-mint smoothies were extremely delicious, BUT, we encountered something there that was very disappointing. The exchange rate for the Kip is 8100:$1.00 US, and while we were traveling throughout Laos, every single place, with one exception,... More

All the other reviews but one rave about the cakes and pastries but I would like to pay special attention to the coffee. As a person who would walk a mile for a good cup of coffee I was very pleasantly surprised on the exceptional quality of the coffee when we had breakfast at the cafe for the first time.... More

Great spot to stop for coffee and croissants after visiting some of Luang Prabang's temples. Nice pain au raisins. Can sit in or outdoors.

There are many examples of French influence around the beautiful town of Luang Prabang - buildings and food especially. The French food is not always great, but the baked goods are pretty marvellous at this little cafe. It is well situated on the main road among other cafes, not far from another great cafe, the Cafe Ban Vat Sene. Le... More

After hearing so many great reviews about the croissants at Le Banneton we decided to give it a visit. We probably should have kept with recommendations and only ordered croissants, however we decided to sample cakes instead - we shouldn't have. We were served by a man with an attitude that the French notoriously reserve for the English. Our cakes... More

We travel in France extensively so were delighted to discover at first bite that this place KNOWS how to cook! We ordered the duck salad and were amazed at how fresh and authentic the bread and that the salad dressing were and all the other spices and ingredients that make French food sooooooo good were ALSO there! The place isn't... More

I'm in love with Luang Prabang since 1989,when it was more wild and food was scarce and dull. Now, among the hundreds small and big restaurants of this green little heaven,my favorite at any time is "Le Banneton",wich I discovered in 2009. This is the ideal place for a rest with fantasy after a day of visiting the area. The... More

It was fun to eat pastries, sandwiches, crepes and pass the time in this fun, lively cafe. All of the food was delicious and the ambiance was comfortable and perfect for a mid-morning or mid-afternoon snack.

Don't expect to be served well. Don't expect to have a nice coffee. I didn't tried cooked meals so skip, but price seems to be ridiculous. Just focus on the bread (and all the bread and pastries are fine). I think it deserves the price only if you are dying missing French ones. My rating is for bread too but... More
