We went here after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor and we weren't disappointed. Enjoyed a baguette and intended to come back again to try their local food but never made it. They kept refilling your water glass which was good. An extensive menu of both western and local choices. Worth a visit.

We went back to this café over and over in our week in LP - just because it's a perfect place to hang out. Very chilled, pleasant old house setting.

I must say that my experience with Café Ban Vat Sene is limited to two visits, each for just a light snack. But somehow, I think a fuller meal would not have changed my resultant view. While interesting in a décor and ambiance sort of way, that would be the only point which would draw my interest to this café.... More

The cafe offers a wide variety of western and asian food. Part French, the tarts and bread are very good. Recently added to the menu is a selection of dishes made by ethnic minority groups, very interesting and tasty. I ate here everyday

Excellent french restaurant with a slight Lao touch. The buffalo pate is surprising. Recommend the 4 course menu. Real change from the asian food. Good service.

I had a tartine here, it was quite tasty! My friend had a yummy baguette. The overall vibe of the place is super laid back. I would come back here again.

Ban Vat Sene is the perfect cafe for a snack, drink, or meal in Luang Prabang. We did all of the above, and really enjoyed our lunch in particular. The menu has great salad, tartine, quiche, etc. options, and the set breakfasts were tempting. I loved the tartine I ordered for lunch - fresh and tasty!

Positioned on the main road, facing one of the temples. Can either sit inside or on the pavement with great view of the temple. Good selection of fresh pastries, croissants etc, coffee, smoothies or beer and even icecream. Great place to have a breakfast, lunch or rest the legs and cool off stop.

A nice little french cafe in a very unassuming setting, good for an afternoon coffee break or a cheap dinner with nice dessert to end the night. It is on the main tourist section in the old quarter part of Luang Prabang, between Sisavanvong Road and Sakkaline Road in Ban Vat Sene area. ( i think in Luang Prebang they... More

I love love love this cafe. I love almost everything about it: the decor, the menu, the atmosphere. It may well be one of my favourite cafes in the world. This is usually the first place I visit when I come to Luang Prabang. The food has always been of very high quality - although on my last visit I... More
