Still as good as ever

When I visited Luang Prabang about 10 years ago I used to have most lunches at Cafe Ban Vat Sene, Pho followed by lemon tart. I was thrilled to find that the Pho was still as fabulous as before, with a lovely serving of herbs, chillies, limes etc in the side. A huge bopwl was only LAK15000 (about... read more

The sandwiches and salads are quite nice, as is the lime soda. it is a nice place to sit and read and watch the world go past. The coffee, however, is not local, and is a bit bitter. I think it is that La Vazza stuff that Europeans seem to like. I much prefer the local coffee, as it is... More

I ate here on Friday night and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the brochettes with satay which were excellent. Nice atmosphere, quite busy, reasonable prices. Definitely worth a stop of you are in LP.

We eat there twice. Once for lunch and then for dinner. My husband wanted to eat French food and that's what we had for lunch. We discovered that they also offer a Lao menu with food offerings from the 3 different tribes in the area. Both times the food was devine! With terrific service on top of it. Try it!

We ate here 3 times during our stay. Wonderful fresh salads, cheese, salami, also ethic laos food. Always great service with a smile, A nice place to relax and read the paper to escape the heat this time of year. A bit more pricey than neighbouring restaurants but definately worth it.

Great place to relax and unwind in LP. Staff are easy going and coffee is strong and pastries are terrific. Free wifi and clean toilets. Also convenient to the main Wat in LP.

I'm fan of all kind noodle soup - specially rice noodle soup "pho". And the pho here was my best pho ever had. The service and presentation were good as well as the price.

We had a light lunch/coffee break. It was extremely well! Hot coffee, tasteful. Good service. I like to eat bread and the baguette was perfect, warm, tastefull. My wife enjoyed her meal as well. In Luang Prabang, this was for sure the best coffee! (For me) They have magazines and newspaper and that I liked too...

Not as good for food or or as well priced as Le Banneton Cafe, but in a convenient spot near Villa Santi, and centrally located is Cafe Ban Vat Sene. It's a good place to go if you need a break.
