Pleasant outdoor seating. A bit of an 'oasis' from the streets of LP. Suitable for larger groups. Local cuisine is excellent. We 'think' that my son may have picked up a stomach virus after eating the ceasar salad there, so I suggest that you stick to local foods and avoid the salads... . We ate there with another family and... More

Set off a side street and down a broad lane, this upmarket restaurant is one of the best in Luang Prabang, but western dishes not as good as Lao ones. Seating may be in air conditioned comfort, lr warm in the courtyard. Booking necessary at busy times.

The Blue Lagoon makes a creditable effort to bring 'fine dining' to Luang Prabang. It doesn't quite make it of course but for anyone looking for something different after a week or two of fish curries and morning glory could do a lot worse. The dining area both indoor and outdoor is spacious, atmospheric and almost refined.

Beautiful sophisticated setting! Very romantic. The food although overpriced for the city is worth it if you are looking for something special. Totally unexpected in this small charming city. Definitely worth a visit.

If you've seen the movie Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, you may recall how the poor Indian slave children looked as they toiled away, trancelike in the mines .. The poor waiter boys at this place had the same dead look in their eyes, and I'm pretty sure it had something to do with the creepy Swiss owner.... More

But the last time I went we ran into surly wait staff. We (a group of 8) wanted to sit outside as the weather was gorgeous but the staff refused, insisting that we sit inside. A case of success gone to the head, we went elsewhere......

We decided to splurge on a top class meal and we were not disappointed. We were welcomed with a plate of complimentary nibbles and were then served with beautifully prepared, absolutely delicious food by immaculate serving staff who were attentive but did not hover -- truly 5 star in my opinion. Certainly worth the price of the meal.

We asked to be served quickly. this was not a setback, on the contrary, the food was exquisite, plentiful, aesthetically prepared and perhaps the most courteous service we experienced in Luang Prabang. the setting is gorgeous, and well worth the effort of finding it (down a lane alongside the palace). They have a huge menu to choose from, and the... More
