Best food in LP

If you want to get away from street/budget food, splurge at Blue Lagoon. Great atmosphere and service. The food was some of the best we had on our trip to SEA. This is a great date/romantic restaurant, and down the street from the market.

I was there for dinner with 4 friends in early April 2015. We all enjoyed the atmosphere, our meals, the service very much. I ordered the lemongrass sorbet for dessert. I was glad that I did! It was delicious. I shared a taste with each of my friends. We all talked about this sorbet many times after our dinner at... More

We spent 5 days in this town, trying all the top rated restaurants whilst there. This is honestly the only one that was superb in every way with local and international cuisine as well as drinks. It is the only place in south East Asia overall that I had exceptional red meat (Swiss style buffalo). In fact, the red meat... More

Definitely the best restaurant in Luang Prabang!! The chef had his training in Switzerland and visited all the tables in the restaurant for a short conversation. The place looks very European but remained authentic with both local as international dishes. A lot of staff serving and filling the glasses. I took the saté and the red curry with steamed rice,... my pork special was very tough. I complained to the chef and he said it should not have been tough. A very thoughtful manager would have reduced the bill or not charged. My friend's currie chicken was acceptable. The ambiance is attractive with a pretty courtyard. Others have enjoyed this restaurant. I would not return.

I went here last week following the good TA reviews and needing a change from rice! My starter was fantastic - the chicken satay - really was excellent. For main course I chose the homemade tagliatelle carbonara with garlic bread. The pasta was so over cooked it was mushy and pretty inedible; garlic bread delicious. Given the price, I would... More

Had the pleasure of dining at the Blue Lagoon in Luang Prabang during a 3 days stay, and I found the cuisine varied with excellant dishes of Lao and Asian origin. Prices were reasonable, and the setting was very nice.

We were looking forward to eating here on Feb after seeing the reviews on Tripadvisor but we were disappointed, the food was just ok. And it was pricey, Not recommended. I would go instead to Tamarind and Bamboo Restaurant, which is less expensive and has much better food.So many better places to try in Luang Prabang, very surprised this place... More

Eat here twice during our stay in Luang Prabang and both times it was excellent, really could not fault anything. The menu has an interesting mix of western and local foods which work together very well. You can choose between sitting outside in the garden or in the air conditioned restaurant.

My family of 4 went to Blue Lagoon after having eaten Lao food for a few day, to have an Western style dinner. We were not disappointed at all! We mostly chose from the chef's recommend dishes, but all the others were fantastic, too. The service can be quite slow, but the food was worth the wait. And bread is... More
