Very popular with local people and with an excellent choice of dishes. Relaxing atmosphere and friendly, helpful waiters.

This hotel is owned by the Hotel by the Red Canal, which we stayed at. We ate at the restaurant once. The Hotel suggested the restaurant would be busy and we should book, but it was very quiet when we were there. The restaurant is very nice and the service was very good. Our Indian meal was very nice and... More

A great little taste of Indian food. We arrived without reservation as non guests and they quickly made us a table upstairs. Very friendly and accommodating staff! The food was excellent typical upscale Indian and reasonably priced for the setting. We would definitely come back for a nice meal!

We came as non-residents, and were warmly welcomed with a resfreshing cold towel and ginger tea.Its the kind of attention you get very seldom nowadays, even in Asia.We could have taken advantage of a free cocktail by the pool, but decided to go straight to the aircon restaurant, as we walked a lot today, both in the Sagaging Hills and... We ate here as non-residents and were made to feel very welcome. We even got directed to the Happy Hour which offered free cocktails before we sat down. Had a seat right in front of the kitchen which added to the experience. Food very good and flavours well matched. This place doubles as the hotel's main dining room and bar... More

The Spice Garden is the restaurant of the Hotel by the Red Canal. It is mainly an Indian restaurant. The tandoori dishes were excellent as were the Indian curries. However, other dishes on the menu were quite bland and lacking inspiration by the chef. Service is friendly and attentive, but lacking professionalism. Prices are about double compared to similar type... More

We received a very warm welcome. The food is excellent (although not Burmese but Indian). The prices are on the high end compared to local Burmese standards, but the lovely setting and excellent food made it well worth it. Try to get a seat outside on the terrace.

Love the high ceilings; love the service; love the food. Not sure what more I can say ... they know what they're doing. I wouldn't call this nouvelle cuisine, but it's comfort food at its best, in a setting that even the most jaded traveller will find relaxing. We stayed at the hotel, and I have to say with the... We were staying at the Red Canal hotel so this was an easy choice. However it is open to non residents.
