This restaurant has some great food, however, the prices are somewhat high for Burma - but really its still cheap compared to the west.

We ate here our first night in Mandalay and sat at a table in the gardens. As the sun went down the staff brought our mosquito coils and then buckets of smoke. It's a necessity at this time of year and I did get a couple of bites on my legs. The food was very good. We had fried pork... More

I so wanted to love the restaurant but what a disappointment! Firstly I tried to order a glass of white wine but they had no white wine, so I settled for beer. I ordered Myanmar tempura, that was OK. Then tried to order soft shell crab, waiter went away & came back - no soft shell crab, then no duck,... More

Two of us ordered golden bags, papaya salad, soft shell crab and snow peas with bean curd and garlic. Too much food! The tastes were clean and fresh, sides of tamarind and chilli. Ambience and staff were exceptional. Large Myanmar umbrellas, paper lanterns, bamboo, turmeric smelling insect repellent, each guest greeting by a gong, but disappointing for us as they... More

It's pretty expensive compared to other restaurants in Myanmar, almost 5X the price, but the portion size is generous and food is good. (Not as good as street stall food but not that far off) Greeted with fresh towels to wash away your day, prawn crackers while you order. It's quite fancy and conveniently located only a 6 minute walk... More

Although the restaurant is a little bit more expensive than many other restaurants in Mandalay, the value for money is good. The dishes are more refined and we had combinations we did not have before and we liked it! Nice people in an attractive setting. We would certainly go back.

I think travel guide books over-rated this restaurant. There is no wow factor about this restaurant regarding cuisine, taste & view. Above all, it is one of expensive restaurants in Mandalay, Bagan and Yangon. They have chains in these cities. We ate at all of these restaurants after reading Lonely Planet.

If this had been our first experience of the food in Myanmar, we'd probably have been satisfied. But my partner's family is from Myanmar so we had some idea of what to expect. We've previously eaten in the Green Elephant restaurants in Yangon so expected their Mandalay restaurant to be similar, but when we ordered the same meal from an... More

I had a delish vegetarian meal of coconut rice and aubergine. The service was delightful, pricing was mid range as this is considered an upmarket option in Mandalay and free wifi. All the seating is alfresco under a high roof or garden setting and surrounded by sumptuous decor. I didn't need to make any booking, and the place was very... More
