Excellent local food

Perfect meal. Used and recommended by locals. Known for typical food of the area. Generous portions. None of this silly nouvelle cuisine stuff. Very pleasant staff.

We stayed at Veliki Hotel and enjoyed both breakfast and dinner at Cafe Veliki. I have to say that it was one of the best meals I had, the portions were huge, they tasted awesome, the prices were alright, and the service was perfect. Totally recommended! The only thing is there is no smoking ban like many other Serbian restaurants,... More

It is one of the most popular restaurants in the city. Not without reason. Menu takes you back to the past, and you can feel the multicultural spirituality of Vojvodina. You will discover dishes from ancient times, prepared with love. Pay attention when ordering, portions can be too big, even for those, who are dying of hunger. Prices are more... More

Dear Fedor, Thank you for lovely comment regarding our restaurant. Cultural diversity for centuries, has left its mark on Vojvodina’s cuisine today and in that sense, we aspire to the Vojvodinian concept of food. Café-restaurant Veliki’s cuisine is influenced by authentic culinary delights from Vojvodina’s national minorities (Serbian, Hungarian, Slovak, Jewish, German, Austrian...) We are very glad that dishes from... More

I left Serbia almost 20 years ago, to live in Germany, and coming to this restaurant brought back, really nice memories of dishes my grandmother and mother used to make. It was really a surreal travel trough time experience. Schnee nockerl is a must.

Very good local cuisine with lots of Austrian influences (which is usual for this part of Serbia). One of the best apple pies I ate. Schneenockerl also very good! Staff is very friendly and helpful, and again- very good food. I would definitely recommend this place.
