As is the norm in Serbia meat-lovers will be happy, but vegetarians had also some seasonal choices (a spectacular pumpkin soup served in a pumpkin). Was surprised by the selection of local wines offered by the glass. Beware that almost all restaurants in Serbia are smoking places.

We found this great place on our first evening in Novi Sad, it is a little further then the busy streets with all the restaurants and the bars (only a 5min walk) it is a lovely place, with a great atmosphere. You can realy relax and take your time. The restaurant has a wonderfull setting and feels realy cosy. The... More

Great place to spend an evening in Novi Sad. Such a friendly and helpful staff and imaginative way of presenting choice of plates: no specific menu - meals are explained directly by the waiter! Definitely a new experience for us :-) As for the food - abundant choice of specific Vojvodina provenient plates - such a tasteful journey into smells... More

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Novi Sad. It is located in the central part of Novi Sad (close to the St.Mary Cathedral) but you still need to ask for directions if you don't really know where it is exactly since it is not located in the main street, but in a left side alley. The place is... More

Had my farewell lunch with my colleagues and I did not regret it. The food was awesome, the outdoor patio as well...I do not think I have any remarks and that is rare :)

We had been in Novi Sad for 4 days and had not been able to try some local cuisine. Kafanica was 2nd on our list, right after Fontana. Luckily (!) Fontana had stopped serving by 21:00 when we looked for dinner, so we had to walk a bit further from the heart of the city center, to the Kafanica restaurant.... More

I had the most delicious meal here whilst I was staying in Novi Sad. The place was cosy and immaculate. Although the menu was written in Cyrillic the waiting staff spoke English very well and helped us select chicken & gnochhi and I really felt like I was getting a taste of Serbia and all of its culinary influences. I... More

We went to “Kafanica” to lunch while on business trip. A local resident recommended it to us. The atmosphere was very cozy – checkered tablecloths, menu written in chalk on blackboards, like stepping in middle-European cafe in the early 20th century. Staff was extremely helpful and courteous, explaining menu items and suggesting local wines. And the food was top class.... More
