The food was really good and the price was reasonable (same goes for the wine). I had chicken stuffed with cottage cheese and rolled into bacon, very good! And that was perfect for lunch. Furthermore the service was very good. The place was recommended by my guide book but I am not sure why. I mean the food was good,... More

The restaurant is quite modern but has no soul. The service is professional, but our waiter seemed to loose his attention when he had brought us the food. The food was good, but nothing to brag about. Therefore a low score.

Needing lunch after the drive from Zagreb, we tried this inconspicuous restaurant (with Hotel) for lunch. The house white wine was a delightful crisp fruity beverage with fine mine reality that complimented the pea soup. Fish with vegetables in parchment was very tasty and some of the best lunch fare in the Balkins. Desert was a chocolate cake about 1... More

Considering it was low season, this restaurant was quite busy. Nothing on the menu was complicated and our steak and sea bass was exactly as expected.

They are getting their supplies from the Pula market nearby and the chef is dishing up great local dishes at reasonable prices. Lots of locals eating there every day is always a good advert.

We went to Pula for a 1-day trip and our first target, obviously, was the Arena. After reading restaurant reviews here on TripAdvisor, I picked the Amfiteatar as is it very close to the Arena. This, unfortunately, remained the only positive thing I can say about it. It started poorly ... we were continuously ignored for good 20 mins, had... More

Arrived late at night to stay in the hotel. Despite the late hour - almost 11pm - the staff at the restaurant could not have been more helpful. Great Istrian food accompanied by an excellent bottle of local wine recommended by the waiter.

After visiting the amfitheater we wanted to eat something, this was the first place we saw. We had the tagliatelle with truffle and seabass, both were excellent. Service is quick and polite. Not the cheapest, but honest prices. Toilets are very clean.

Amfiteatar is a most welcome addition to restaurants in Pula. There is nothing unusual about the menu, but they certainly know how to get the best from the local ingredients. We shared an excellent seafood platter/plate of bream, sea bass, calamari, langoustine, mussels and shrimp with side dishes. Other menu items were steak, risotto, pasta and dishes with truffles. The wine... More
