The old mantra of never eating at a restaurant that has pictures of the food has never rung more truly. I had the "Meat Plate" and she had the "Fish Plate". We shared a cheese starter. Chapter 1: The Cheese Starter. The cheese starter consisted of 6 bits of cheese not even McDonald's would... read more

We visited here twice during our trip to Pula, and was very impressed with the service and the food! We stopped at Barbara for a beer but ended up eating pizza and pancakes on our first trip. The staff were incredibly friendly and light hearted, and we thoroughly enjoyed our food! The pizza was hot and delicious, and the pancakes... More

My wife and I were trying to find an open restaurant in April (apparently May is the start of the tourist season) when someone outside Barbara was trying to talk us int coming in. It was pretty slim pickings, and normally I'm leery of a place that has to hustle customers, but we were getting hungry so we took a... More

Lacklustre food, dodgy house wine, pushy staff - not a good experience! The white wine, in particular, was probably the worst we tried during our visit - when we chose the house wine in most other restaurants we were pleasantly surprised by the quality.

We had the fish platter (240 Kn) and not disappointed. Friendly service and the food was nice though you could get cheaper in town. The fish platter had dorado, mackerel, sardines and squid.

We went to Pula for lunch without consulting trip advisor and hoping just to get a simple lunch on one of the touristy streets. We knew that we were going to expect an average meal, but didn't want anything special, just something to keep us going. We didn't however expect this level of insulting service. We were tempted in, as... More

House suggestion were squids that's one of my favourites. Unfortunately were poorly fried and the batter was too soft and the squids hard to chew. White wine was really poor so can't say anything good.

We endend up in here after searching pula centre on sunday night for something to eat . A tough job as all the restaurants are the usual average tourist rubbish . We picked Barbara as best of bad lot , surprising though as our fish was lovely and fresh and excellently cooked. We had Seabass and dorado. Crisp skin, well... More

We had a fish platter, garlic bread to start, a carafe of Istrian white and 2 coffees. I predicted 300KN, my wife thought 400KN. Actual total 469KN. Good food but not worth that much.

Mixed fish plate and 2 drinks at 20 euro sounds like a bargain, but the only thing mixed was the size of the sardines. Maybe we were unlucky, but a big plate of grilled sardines is a bit disappointing when u expect a fish platter - especially in a harbour town.
