Beautiful setting, traditional food

Don't get caught in the tourist trap in the Old Town! It took me a while to locate this restaurant on the recommendation of my walking tour guide, Anna. It's situated at the top of the Spanish steps. A bit unbalanced. Good food, at some moments good service, the next a bit unattentative. Reasonable price, nice venue.

In this touristy town of Dubrovnik, one can easily end up at a generic restaurant which serves generic dishes. Not so, if you're smart enough to dine at Kopun. We decided to eat here based on the sole recommendation of our local hostess (God bless her!), as she knew we didn't want to be in the middle of the crowded... More

Fantastic food and service with lots of traditional dishes to choose from. Lovely location in a quiet square. A really nice experience to eat here and would recommend to anyone visiting Dubrovnik. It gets busy though so maybe book a table!

Of our 2 weeks trip in Croatia, this is one of our favorites. I am so glad we walked up those steps to check out the church ruins! There it was a tiny little place that doesn't even look like a restaurant from the outside. I went in and the waiter explained to me they are a specialty restaurant serving... More

We visited as part of a group and had a set meal of which we both had calamari. This consisted of 4 small whole calamari grilled in a marvellous marinade. It was served with chard and potato which was delicious also. Presentation was great. The drinks were quickly brought out on a hot day. The beer was icy and went... More

Three out of our party of five tried the kopun (castrated rooster) that the restaurant is renowned for and it didn't disappoint. Unique flavours and combinations. The chocolate lava cake (can't remember exactly what it was called) was so pretty and tasty. The staff were friendly, accommodating and had good English. The restaurant is located in a nice square. The... More

Ate with hubby and middle daughter (20) I had mussels buzabo which was nice but they did it with polenta and tomato. Massive portion but about 8 mussels were closed. Followed by grilled scampi which was langoustine. Quite hard to shell but very nice. Hubby had Capon which he liked. Daughter had a steak with truffle and shrimp which she... More

Chose this restaurant on our second night in Dubrovnik based on the lovely online reviews and the offer of traditional Croatian dishes :) atmosphere was great, place was packed but they managed to squeeze us in without a reservation or having to wait for a table. Service was good, the gentleman who we presumed was the owner was fantastic and... More

We had scampi pasta, grilled squid, prawn risotto and steak - risotto takes my vote cos it was soooo flavorful. The vegetable juices found their way into the rice grains and it tasted so good. Squid was fresh and tasted nicely grilled.
