We made a reservation in advance via email, which was lucky as the place was packed. We had a fantastic meal here-I had the mixed fish starter (smoked tuna & anchovies) which was a lovely combination of flavours. The grilled squid main was also delicious. My boyfriend had the steak which was perfectly cooked .We had a bottle of Posip... More

Fantastic place. The best restaurant in the old city. We had seafood, fig, steak, pasta and it as ll superb. Of all the restaurants we ate at during our 10 days, this one was hands down the best

We saw Marco Polo on TripAdvisor an decided to give it a try. We turned up, foolishly, on the Saturday evening, only to be told would have to wait as it was full. A good sign! We returned on Tuesday and booked for that evening. Success! What a brilliant place. The service was first class and multi-lingual! Fab! The food... More

Recommended this place by our hostel on our first night when we didn't want to search and just wanted to sit down for dinner. Hidden away, a lovely courtyard away from the hustle and bustle of the main streets. Did try to push a bottle rather than a glass of wine, but given we were tired from the flight, we... More

We tried to get into The Taj Mahal but it was fully booked so walked into Marco Polo on impulse. As other contributors have noted it sits in a very quaint court yard and so doesn't have the masses pushing past you as you try to eat as is the case with many Dubrovnik restaurants. The service was good and... More

We ate here on our last night in Dubrovnik having stumbled across it accidentally. The restaurant is very pretty, set in a small court yard, just off the main drag. The waiting staff are excellent and certainly the best we found in Croatia- all very obliging, attentive and friendly. Unfortunately the food was pretty disappointing and average. The meat was... Lovely setting in a quiet courtyard, excellent waiting staff. Very good food including black risotto, sea bass, pork medallions and grilled chicken, unlimited bread and a very nice house white wine. 4 starters, main courses, wine and 4 cokes cost 750kn. If you like this, suggest you also consider Kopun and Dalmatino, you won't be disappointed.

I had my eye on this restaurant since arriving in Dubrovnik as our apartment stairs overlooked it. It gave a chilled and quaint impression and my instinct was correct! It's not big enough to be too busy, which is what I really liked. The waiters were very attentive and had a great sense of humour. My husband and I were... More
