Hunter's chicken is to die for

Had an amazing meal here with my family. Mum had the pork cooked in red wine with polenta, which was delicious. The rest of us had the Hunter's Chicken, and we could not get enough. Best dish of the entire Croatian holiday. The Croatian wine we had here was also perfectly matched to the chicken... read more

We liked the location down one of the bustling little streets set in the Old City. The Croation wine we ordered was good. The food wasn't amazing. I had the Vege Tofu stir-fry which would have been great but was way way too salty. My husband had tagliatelle with mushrooms and truffle which was way way too creamy!

We went to Pupo the first night of our 3 night stay on recommendations from our Sobe host and we were delighted! We had the cheese and ham platter to start, followed by the grilled fish and the calamari stewed in red wine. All were amazing!! The calamari was exceptional, tender and stewed in a delicious red wine sauce. We... More

After a 2h walk on the city walls, you start wondering around the old city looking for that one signature dish. Located in a quiet alley, almost as if a hidden gem, Pupo will offer that and the prices are quite reasonable. Reward your taste buds and give the cheese appetizers and the fish dish a try. Thumbs up!

Just off the main drag (south) Placa ul. in a quiet alleyway in front of Konoba Dalmatino. The outdoor seatings (with big umbrella) looked inviting, so picked it for lunch. Had Octopus salad (good), Calamari (squid) tomato sauce with veggies (on the salty side), grilled fish (good) and cheese platter, local beer and soda, lunch came to reasonable 380 Croatian... More

This restaurant is average. Dalmatino next door is a much better choice. Pupo food was average and the service was less than fully attentive.

the seafood was mediocre and bony, the Hunters Chicken much better. The hunters Chicken sauce was really great. Service was slow but adequate. All in all, it was an OK meal

Ate here on first night based on fish heavy menu. Shared some bread, not given butter. Fish needed some salt but cooked nice. Eating partner liked octopus risotto. Friendly staff but slow with change

Pupo is tucked away in one of the side streets and we came across it just by chance. And lucky we were. Not the most extensive menu (as pretty much all places here) but a nice and welcomed change from most larger places here. Waitress very friendly, spot on with advice on wine, service fast. It's location and setup of... More

We ate here the last night of our visit. Contemporary menu with fresh fish. Friendly staff, we ate there with our 2.5 year old and the staff went out of their way to help him to feel welcome. Our food was amazing--baked calamari, octopus salad, cream fish soup, a Pork dish, and dessert. We could not have been more happy... More
