We arrived in Dubrovnik around lunch time and Dundo Maroje was recommended to us as a great place for local food. It is just inside the Ploce Gate in a narrow alley. They have selections for light lunches and a special 3 course lunch where you select an appetizer, main course (served with salad) and dessert. I had the fish... More

We went there under the suggestion of our apartment owner. It is in a small way of the beatiful Dubrovnik Stradun, so the atmosphere is very nice. We ordered Octopus Salad for appetizer, grilled Branzino and Grilled Squid. The Octopus was great, but the Branzino was very small and not so fresh, while the squid was a bit flabby. The... More

Tucked away along one the alleyways along the Main Street, this little gem served up a great number of tasty dishes with great service! We had the octopus carpaccio, mussels, squid ink risotto and grilled calamari. It wasn't too pricy either as the restaurAnt was not located along the Main Street. Would recommend the mussels for sure.

Nestling at the foot of a side street, in amongst the very worst of the complacent, tourist trap bistros which line the Stradun, there is superb little family run joint that is so good, we went there three times. It was the first place we ate at, one rainy lunch time at the beginning of our week in Dubrovnik. The... More

We ate here the last time we were in Dubrovnik (4 years ago) and came back and were not disappointed. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly. The one novel aspect to the menu that other establishments don't have was the 4 course menu for 198 KN ( a little over £20 a head). There was a choice... More

The only restaurant in Dubrovnik that we visited twice, and well worth it. The squid is excellent along with the octopus salad and carpaccio which we only found in this restaurant. Service was also very good.

Dundo Maroje is one of these justly popular and touristic places: a restaurant in an ideal location in the heart of the old town of Dubrovnik, that did not lower its quality because of the constant influx of new tourists. The hosts are very welcoming, helpful and kind, and the menu, while containing all of the staples of Croatian cuisine,... More

My sister and I had dinner here this evening having walked around the old town for sometime - I'm so glad we did! The lady who runs it is welcoming and funny, the atmosphere is buzzy yet relaxed and the food was fantastic. Very reasonably priced, great quality food. The house wine is great too! Highly, highly recommended. :)
