I must say that I have never been treated so rudely anywhere in the world like in this restaurant and I've seen quite a bit of the blue planet. First of all the food is way overpriced for what you get and can get similar meals 50% cheaper in other Split restaurants. The establishment added an extra charge "couver" that... More

It's a well-known standard to go where the locals go. Thus Element was a group choice as most were staying nearby and thought it looked nice. Another saying is appearances can be deceptive. These both apply to the tourist venus fly trap of Element and its neighboursm Posejdon and Jupiter. Located either side of the Old Clock Tower in Old... More

We flew over from America and arrived in Split after changing flights in Munich, tired and hungry! We checked in our room at Palace Suites and after a short rest we went out to find dinner. Our hotel had a great location within the walls of the Old Palace, close to the Cathedral. We very, very fortunately stumbled on Element,... More

Beware, don't get fished into this restaurant with its cosy look and romantic tables....food is very mediocre and I was go as far as saying that the octupus salad that my partner had to start was from a jar (in oil), his risotto was pretty poor and my seafood stew, from the first mouthful I took, definitely from a tin/jar... We stopped here late (9:00 pm) in off season, not much choice. We were pleasantly surprised. Sat in the alley, very romantic. The waiter was very attentive. My partner had meat rolls, I had sea bass. Both cooked to perfection. House red wine is recommended. Overall it was a great find.

My husband and I have been travelling for 6 weeks and our meal at elements was just like a home cooked meal. We had a traditional dish of stuffed green peppers which we thoroughly enjoyed. The background music from the guitarist was just lovely. However the staff need to be a little more attentive they had a now care attitude... More

Perhaps we turned up a bit too late for them to love and cherish us. But it would have been nice to have been told that main dishes don't come with any vegetables, or that bread doesn't come without you asking for it. And it would have been nice to have been able to get our bill promptly, even though... More

My husband and I have been travelling for five weeks and this was one of the best meals we have had in that time. The slow cooked beef with gnocchi was tender and flavoursome, as was the steak and pepper sauce. It was a romantic setting, with a fabulous guitarist playing in the background. Very good waiter so overall and... More

Was wandering around Split for a while looking for somewhere to eat when I decided on this place as I was getting hungry. I was on my own and was made to feel uncomfortable by the staff. The food is very overpriced and not that great. As others have mentioned they add extras onto the bill. My side order of... More

I won't rant but just be aware that this restaurant will add to your bill an item titled "couver" which is listed under the soups and dessert section as 'chef's choice of the day' as though it is the soup/dessert of the day. You only notice this once you have received the bill and notice all the other customers complaining.... More
