Great

Was recommended by our taxi driver. Tend to be a bit cautious about that but turned out great. We had the sea food platter for 2 and roasted vegetables. The stuff that were roasted was done on charcoal (you can taste it). I really recommend both but the vegetable was exceptional!

Our guide, Maya Benson (highly recommend!) recommended this small local restaurant after our tour of Split. We enjoyed a couple of local draft beers, proscuitto, grilled scampi (large shrimp) and sausage. Its a genuine Croatian local restaurant and nicely air conditioned too!

Our travel agent gave Varos a high recommendation, but the 2 of us had a mediocre meal. Ambiance is nice, the owner is friendly, and we enjoyed our wine selection. Their specialty of

we ate here at the recommendation of our hotel and the food was very good and the service excellent. The bill was very reasonable and we were able to pick our fish which were really fresh. We have found the general quality of food in Split to be very high and this restaurant is very good and the prices reasonable.

We wanted to try a local dish that was recommended to us called pasticada and this was the perfect place for it - braised beef served with gnocchi. Enjoy it with some Croatian dingac wine. Pasticada was delicious and a huge serving. We went on the early side as we did not have reservations and had no problem getting a... More

An amazing restaurant with great food and great service. It's just near the downtown core of old town Split, well worth a visit for authentic food.

We discovered this restaurant by chance and were lucky enough to get a table outside! The menu is varied offering fish and meat. We had decided on fish and we got to choose the one we wanted! The sea bream was delicious and cooked to perfection. We started with a shared mozzarella and tomato salad and a huge basket of... More

We got seated without reservations at an outdoor table. I thought the service was attentive and fast while the food was fine. I had rib-in lamb chops which were flavorful. I also got the octopus salad which was almost entirely octopus; maybe could have added some more tomatoes or cucumbers or other fresh vegetable to make it not so overpowering.... More

Went there by suggestion of our guide on the walking tour and loved it! Nice place, friendly staff and amazing Pastiscada! (Also, it wasn't expensive at all)

Stopping in at the Tourist Bureau on the west side of the Riva, we asked VJ, an excellent employee of the Bureau where and what he would suggest for a good example of a local dinner. Without hesitation he suggested the house specialty @ Konoba Varos-"Pastisada"- Naturally we followed his advice and learned and tasted a savory baby beef marinated... More
