Description: Experience local Dalmatian specialties in warm & friendly atmosphere. Our small family restaurant is run by the father & chef, making dishes that are passed on by generations. Blessed by the heavenly Adriatic Sea, seafood is mainly our thing. The menu is changed daily as we depend on the weather working with fish, it's simple & flexible so we can offer only the freshest ingredients. Groceries are bought near, on the local bazaar & the fish-market, even our wine & olive oil is made by small family producers locally.

Great local seafood, simple flavours that let the produce speak for itself. My girlfriend is vegetarian, although nothing on the menu, they were only too happy to whip up an amazing risotto. Great place to have dinner, especially when there are some colourful locals enjoying too many glasses of wine :)

This got to be one of my favorite restaurants during our trip to Croatia. It is a small unassuming restaurant located in an alley near the old town of Split. It only has a few tables inside and outside on the alleyway. The service is very friendly and you feel welcome immediately on arrival. The food is simple but relies... More

Very friendly waiter, also very entertaining. Fish was excellent. Grilled vegetables were the best I have ever had. Make sure you have the apple pie. It was amazing. Quite a small place which adds to its charm.

I stayed 4 days in Split this May and I ate at this restaurant 3 times, two lunches and a dinner. It was a very small place with just a few tables. Without a question, fish was the best and also the only 5-star item on their menu! I had fish soup, hake and flounder and grilled mixed veggies. The... More

Excellent fresh fish simply prepared and well cooked. One could not ask for fresher fish and well cooked but the menu selection is basically very simple so those looking for the exotic should go elsewhere.

Good food and acceptable service. Some of the staff were great and some were indifferent. We found that to be true in much of Croatia - some great service and some not so great.

We tried dining here without a reservation on a Monday and the location was close. A person came out and told us they were close and made no effort to give us information about future reservations. Our hotel recommended this place so we decided to make a reservation and try it out. Inside there are limited tables and some outdoor... More

Good day Tunera, We at Konoba Matejuska are sad to see such a review as we wish all of our guests experience is above average, at least. But when people choose our small restaurant we hope they know what type of an restaurant we are. By your words it seems you were not aware that we are primarily a fish... More

a small and always busy restaurant, which is why reservations are necessary especially on weekends. The service was excellent as was the food we ordered although the cod spread for bread was a little bland. Don't be surprised to have to share a table if you are a couple. There is very limited seating both indoors and out. I highly... More
