Description: Experience local Dalmatian specialties in warm & friendly atmosphere. Our small family restaurant is run by the father & chef, making dishes that are passed on by generations. Blessed by the heavenly Adriatic Sea, seafood is mainly our thing. The menu is changed daily as we depend on the weather working with fish, it's simple & flexible so we can offer only the freshest ingredients. Groceries are bought near, on the local bazaar & the fish-market, even our wine & olive oil is made by small family producers locally.

Except of some fixed menu options there are "meals of the day" which you can get in reasonable price. This is what we tried - they served octopus with chickpeas and cuttlefish black risotto on that day. Black risotto was the best we've had in Croatia!! Wine of house is very tasty and they serve it together with free carafe... More

Hands down, it was the best restaurant we have been during our 10-day trip to Croatia. First, a reservation is required, the restaurant is pretty small (6, maybe 7 tables only) and the staff makes no efforts in moving the tables quickly. Service is fantastic. As a typical Croatian restaurant, the fishes are shown to you before you get to... More

This tiny restaurant on a side alley in Split serves some of the best food in the old town area. It is hard to get a table, so make a reservation early. The fish is very fresh, so you really can't go wrong with any selection when it is grilled and served with fresh veggies and crusty bread. The menu... More

The restaurant is very small, better reserve a table. It is near center in a quiet street. The food is fresh, the staffs are very kind, even if 2 of our people was not feeling good from the previoius day, they gave them space to rest and bought hot water. The fish soup is very delicate, also the fish plate.... More

This time we were better organised than usual and looked at Tripadvisor before finding restaurants to eat at! Konoba Matejuska is rated as No1 in Split by Tripadvisor and it's was certainly the best meal we've had in Croatia over the last 10 days. It's very small restaurant with only 4-5 tables inside and a further 5-6 outside on the... More

Amazing experience in this little and cosy traditional croatian family - run restaurant! The food is simply fantastic, a variety of local dishes, and the service is great. If you spent even one night in Split you must try to eat there. Reservation in advance strongly recommended!

We went to Matejuska on our last day in Split, and what a way to end our holiday! The food was excellent. The waiter (which provided great and personal service) first showed us todays catch from the fish market. We decided to go for a starter which consisted of mussels and shrimps in white wine and garlic sauce. It was... More

Relly good restaurant in the old part of Split. I've been there 3 times trying different fish dishes. If you don't take the first class fish, the price will be really cheap; otherwise it's gonna raise a little, but it worth. I suggest to get a plate of mussels: amazing. The staff (young guys) are really kind

This place is AMAZING. We wanted mussels, prawns, fish... got it all at the serving portion we wanted because they were flexible. Just want we wanted. The food was fresh, amazingly cooked, and the service was top notch. If you visit split, BOOK to go here and find your first step to heaven!
