Description: Experience local Dalmatian specialties in warm & friendly atmosphere. Our small family restaurant is run by the father & chef, making dishes that are passed on by generations. Blessed by the heavenly Adriatic Sea, seafood is mainly our thing. The menu is changed daily as we depend on the weather working with fish, it's simple & flexible so we can offer only the freshest ingredients. Groceries are bought near, on the local bazaar & the fish-market, even our wine & olive oil is made by small family producers locally.

We enjoyed sitting in this interesting restaurant and managed to secure a table when a reservation did not turn up. Great, friendly service. We ordered the fish plate 4 different fish inc. Mussels, tuna and sea bream. Succulent and a very good size portion for two, with 0.5 l of house white wine cost 290 Luna. A delicious treat well... More

This restaurant was recommended by someone in the Palace, so we went one evening. They were booked so we made a reservation for the following night. It is very popular so make sure you make reservations. We loved the outside table, nice murals and a friendly kitty. The service was the best part - very very excellent. They bring a... More

Matejuska is a small restaurant with great seafood. RESERVATIONS ARE A MUST and they are also usually completely booked so reserve at least a day ahead. I went to Matejuska the night after eating at Restaurant Marjan and I have to say that this restaurant is also excellent -- it is extremely interesting how different they cook their fish and... More

We had a lovely meal with my son and his wife, the muscles were fabulous! Our fish was cooked to perfection. Great service, and quiet area.

Both myself and my wife tried to get a table one evening, but unfortunately the place was fully booked. We decided we would reserve a table for the following night and I'm so glad we did. We both tried the shrimp ravioli as a starter and it was absolutely amazing, I had the octopus and chickpea stew as a main... More

We had a wonderful meal at Matejuska -- considerate service, reasonable prices, and lovely fish. Other reviews suggest that you should go with high expectations, and in my opinion, it doesn't deserve too many superlatives (food was well made, but not exactly worthy of writing gushy postcards home). Still, worth a stop! We had a a special -- cuttlefish with... More

I ate seafood every day for a week in Split. This was the best place I found and certainly the best value. The food is delicious and the service courteous and attentive. Despite the limited number of tables, as a solo traveler I was made welcome and not rushed. The shrimp cream soup is divine, the house strudel not to... More

Very good prices and very tasty food. We were 4 people and had 2 seefood plates, which included most of the fishes from the menu. It was very delicious and more than enough for 4 pers. The only minus of this restsurant is that they only have a few tables outside and they are a little to small for all... More
