Fife was recommended by the receptionist at our hotel. She said it was basic good food at affordable prices. We arrived at 7pm and the outdoor eating area was packed with several people waiting in line. A nice lady with menus in her hand said "Can I help you?" I asked how long was the wait. She replied " 1... More

Fife was the first place to eat in Split when we had our trip in Croatia in July 2014. We had to wait for a quite while before anyone served us but it was because of the popularity of restaurant rather than the fact of us being ignored. The menus were in several languages and we decided to get something... More

Tasty, cheap and quick. I visited Fife for dinner with five friends so we got to sample a wide range of dishes and everything was delicious. There's nothing special about the ambience of the restaurant, but if you're looking for an affordable taste of local cuisine there's nowhere better.

We ate here twice during our split visit. Staff are somewhat abrupt but get the job done. Portions are big. Most meals we had were ready made, to which one came out barely warm if anything I would say it was cold. Given the price and location, adjust your expectations. Good place to get full, we ate lunch and did... More

We accidentally walked into this restaurant thinking it was the much touted Matejuska since this was included in the title. The food was actually much better than the ratings warranted. I had fried fish which was fresh, perfectly cooked, and reasonably priced. My husband had fried calamari, which was very tender and tasty. The service was good as was the... More

Fife (pronounced FIfa and very fitting for World Cup Final night 2014) was recommended as good restaurant serving cheap but good food. The Cup Final and the Ultra Festival both in full swing made for a young clientele and we were definitely older than most (by at least three decades) but this added to the buzzing atmosphere and vibrancy of... Fantastic restaurant, great value, exceptionally fast service and a really pleasant place to eat! We were looking for somewhere to eat pasticada, a traditional Croatian dish, in Split, and read online that Fife was a good place to eat it. We had a great meal, amazing value, great wine and a big table to ourselves (we sat inside, whereas most... More

Our party of eight had an enjoyable lunch here. The seafood was very good and the Croatian specialties recommended by our server were also very good . The portions are large and can be shared. The prices were reasonable and the service was attentive. We dined on a Saturday afternoon and the restaurant was crowded, but there was no wait... More
