Ukrainian cuisine in all its colours

This place has very beautiful and typical Ukrainian design, you can take pictures there. The prices are a bit high, but that's almost the least you can expect from a restaurant in the very centre of city. Unfortunately, waitors speak Russian instead of Ukrainian. We had just finished enjoying the Nutcracker at the Opera House, and if you head straight out the front door and hit Deribasovskaya and turn right, you will see the flashing neon blue windmill catty-corner from you that is the Lasunka restaurant. It was a bit chilly for the outdoor cafe, so we opted to go inside. We very much... More

Location is great - right on the corner of famous Deribasovskaya Str. Inside interior is great also but I would say too touristic. Food is traditional Ukrainian but quality is average and for some dishes even low. Service isok, but slow a little. I would not recommend it if you’ve never tried Ukrainian dishes before because you can get very... More

Good Ukrainian food at a reasonable price in the best street in Odessa. A little touristy but most Ukrainian restaurants in tourist areas are. Service not perfect but good enough.

Local food with nice service, affordable prices, the restaurant offers a lot of ukrainian plates. Try solyanka and vareniky with mashrooms. yummy.

We went to Kumanets one night, and then Lasunka while were in Odessa, and we preferred Lasunka, probably because the waiter engaged with us far better (spoke better english, gave advice, I think I had a free vodka (or was it something else that was gratis), and the food was better quality (not taking licence with their "rustic" tag), nice... We were taken to the Lasunka (Windmill) Restaurant in Odessa as part of a trip aound Odessa. The place was busy and very welcoming. many of the young waiters spoke perfect English. The chosen meal consisted of a large shot of "homemade" Vodka with a canape, salad, borscht, Chicken a la Kiev, sweet cakes for desert and tea or coffee.... More

I remember seeing this place last year when I was in Odessa, but didn't go to it last year, but made sure I did this year. It is a lot like Kumanets, which isn't far away at all, but does offer differences. The restaurant is located on the main street of Odessa, Deribasivska, right where the street becomes a large... This restaurant is decorated in a traditional Ukranian style and is rather attractive. There are two live chickens and a golden pheasant in a wicker cage near the entrance. In the evening there is traditional music and the staff ware Ukranian folklore clothes. In the evening the restaurant is very busy. We visited at lunchtime and although it was very... More
