I have reservations about this place mainly regarding hygiene. Too many flies, they need to spray. You are constantly fighting off flies, at your table. I can only imagine at the food preparation area where the waitresses and cooks are not. the food is placed on a large tray while the rice and beans etc are being gotten together before... More

I love this restaurant and its food. Of its three locations, I prefer the one around the corner from the other two, with its outdoor courtyard and intimate dining rooms. Twelve of us ate here, enjoying Guatemalan dishes, chicken, steak, and seafood. All enjoyed their meals. The service was excellent and the prices are great. I come here each time... More

There are now 3 of these, as they had to expand to keep up with demand (they're all close to each other). I prefer the original one- bigger, open kitchen. This is not fancy food, but is very regional and well-prepared. Save some money and eat here a time or two, You won't be disappointed.

My daughter and I had an early dinner here during our stay in Antigua. There are three restaurants of this name, all owned and operated by the same people and seemingly with the same menu, within about a block. We dined at the one on the street perpendicular to the arch street, not the two on the arch street. The... More

There were four of us and we shared two orders of "Un poco de todos" (a sampler of steak, grilled chicken, sausages, and potatoes), grilled vegetables, and a tamale. Each meat was flavorful and well cooked, especially the steak and the chorizo. The vegetables and tamale were also excellent. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the only complaint I have is... More

We eat here often when in Antigua. The food is excellent and authentic. The service is as good as it gets and for us, it is a comfortable place to dine.

I had two meals at Fonda, both were very tasty. Service was great, fast and pleasant. All of the Guatemalan food I tried here was good. But I have to say that my favorite thing on the menu was the horchata. Probably the best horchata I've ever had... amazingly good.

I took my family here when they visited Guatemala on the recommendation of a friend. We got just what we were hoping for at this restaurant-a beautiful atmosphere with friendly staff, authentic Guatemalan dishes, vibrant flavors, and tons of food! Everyone in my group agreed the restaurant was a good choice. We all got different dishes, and we all left... More
