Nothing out of this world.... Simple tradicional Guatemalan food, service is kind but basic and they need to do serious work on the cleaning....

Great menu. Extensive with typical Guatemalan food from across the country. The caldos are huge and probably enough for a dinner. But, so was the BBQ chicken. Service is superb and attentive Prices, well they are a little high.

Two outlets either side of 5th avenue, within 100m north of parque central. The east side is a bistro with the kitchen on the ground floor. Good atmosphere in the evening. The west side is a pleasant courtyard. Good food and friendly service.

We were lost trying to find La Fonda and just happened to ask for directions to one of its employees. He was on his lunch break but offered to walk us there; which was quite a walk as we were really lost. On the walk there gave us a mini tour and told us about the history of the city... More

I don’t know why the guidebooks, etc. recommend this place. It was possibly the worst meal we ate in Guatemala. We ordered the pipián, a typical Guatemala dish, and it had absolutely no flavor. None. The chicken soup also received its principal seasoning from salt. While we didn’t even bother to try the wine, a French couple next to us... More

We were told by several people in the city to visit Fonda de la Calle Real. It was a great choice. We are fond of the typical Guatemalan foods, and this place a wide sampling of all. Of our party we enjoyed pepian, popusus, jocon and carne asada. All were cooked to the delight of even my Guatemalan in-laws. Additional... More

Very pretty ambiance. Very good service. The food is very good. The roasted chicken, pepien and chicken soups were all very good. Prices a little high but still good.

This place has great character and a great open courtyard patio with tables. There's a good variety of meat heavy entrees, including a number of Guatemalan dishes. The service has been slow every time I've been there and the most recent time they brought us more appetizers than we could eat as multiple people ordered group appetizers. The blame is... More
