We only had drinks and snacks at this restaurant, but the place had ambiance, and the server was attentive and friendly. We loved our mojitos and the snacks - roasted vegetables were very tasty. On our next visit to Antigua we will make sure we have dinner at this restaurant.

Recommended by Rough Guide and our travel guide (but very mixed views on Trip Advisor) we visited for dinner in the smaller and older restaurant of the two on the road. The place looked good with a very meaty and inviting smell but there was limited menu. Large portion of guacamole (but it was tasteless) with a good steak and... More

We went, we say, we ate and we enjoyed it. there seem to be mixed reviews on Trip Advisor but our experience was very good. The service was top notch. The ambiance is very colorful especially with the Mayan dresses the servers wear. We found the food to be very good. We had 4 different plates and everyone was very... More

I guess I picked the wrong dish, because although being good, it was really nothing special. Definitely too expensive for what you get. Perhaps the best choices are the traditional dishes!

We were here around Christmas and had an excellent Christmas rum-laced cider. The pepian, sopa de polla, and other dishes we had were hearty, tasty, and unsurprising. The ambience was very pleasant.

The first time we went into the Fonda, we were starving and ordered a ton of food. The waiter said "is it ok if I bring out everything at once?" which we didn't quite understand or pay attention to, but then we got everything - soup, fondue, meats, drinks - everything we ordered at once. We were hungry and excited... More

We tried the tamal de pollo and it was so so. My friend had the pepian and he was not overly impressed. We both thought the rice was the best item on our table.

I had caldo de pollo (chicken soup) and my wife had a special holiday caldo with turkey; both were hearty and filling. I also ordered tamal colorado (red tamal) which was also a holiday special. My wife also had guacamole with tortillas that wasn't extraordinary but quite good. Our waitress was attentive and efficient. Families and couples around us were... More

My partner is vegetarian and the choice is limited to we went for the fondue - I guess you should have this in Switzerland and not Guatemala as the cheese was pretty hard by the time we finished it. It was ok though and reasonably priced. It is a lovely restaurant in terms of the layout with a good atmosphere... More
