For a hotel the food was pretty good

I too was here for restaurant week and do agree with some of the other reviewers comments. The food was quite good but the size of the portions were rather small when compared with other restaurants. The server was very nice and knowledgable. I haven't been here for years but I will probably return.

This was the first time I had been to this restaurant. I was not impressed at all and will never return. The portions were so small we all went home and had sandwiches. I had the salmon which i asked to be cooked medium plus. I like my fish cooked. The salmon was raw and actually cold inside. It was... More

We dined at Aerie on a snowy Sunday in January, and sadly, the views that I'd heard about were nonexistent due to blizzard-like conditions. All we could see were clouds of snow. So, our experience rests upon the service and the food, neither of which were impressive. First of all, when we arrived, the host was not there to greet... More

Overall, the dining experience at the Aerie was very enjoyable. The restaurant atmosphere was elegant - cloth table cloths and napkins, clean surroundings, beautiful views. The food had an air of elegance, with unusual ingredients used by the chef. Presentation was very visually appealing. Prices were about what we expected, and portions about what was expected as well, although not... More

We went to the Christmas buffet here with our kids and grandkids. This was one of the restaurants recommended for christmas dinner when we called CVB. This was our christmas getaway with the family and we wanted a nice place for Christmas dinner. We were not disappointed. We got there right at our reservation time and were seated within 5-10... We chose to celebrate our 48th wedding anniversary at Aerie. There are so many great restaurants to choose from in the Traverse City area. The restaurant is beautiful but we were totally disappointed in the quality of the food. We began with the house salad @ $7.00. Was shocked when a plate of white romaine arrived with a few sliced... The service was great, the restaurant beautiful, but the food was just plain not good. Very small portions, and ultimately flavorless. For a $135 bill, I expect more.

After a day of wine tasting on Old Mission we decided to round out the evening with an early dinner at Aerie. It had just opened (5pm) so we decided to eat in the lounge. We each had a bowl of the tomato bisque with bacon (TO DIE FOR) and the Kobe meatball. The service was spot on and the... More

Located on the 16th floor provides a great view of the colorful fall leaves. The food presentation was excellent. However, the taste was not. The kobe meatballs were good, however, overall the food was not good. Several of us did not enjoy the food. And, the service was very slow.

Aerie has moved to the top of my "short list" of best area restaurants. I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone visiting the Grand Traverse area.
