Best Clambake on the Island!

interesting experience. go to the counter, give them your order and you watch them select the freshest fillets to bread and fry. a bit crowded in season and before dinnertime, as many people are ordering a large dinner for their family and guests.

This place is close to the warf, a joint, not fancy. . .but these are our favorite places. We rode bikes there the first time and came back the next day. We had lobster, steam mussels, and fried clams! Delicious!

Sayles is a take out type of place with a few tables and chairs on their front porch. We were told that they have fresh seafood at good prices. We ordered the fried seafood platter. We basically haven't had any fried food in ages--- this was a real treat. Everything on the platter was terrific, especially the fried clams. The... More

We got $36 lobster boiled dinner. Lobster was just ok- not particularly sweet meat, could do the same at Stop & Shop for much less. The lobster roll $17 is really lobster salad -- dousing lobster in mayo us a sin in my book.

Sayle's is the place to go if you want top-quality seafood in large portions. It's a local establishment that just sells fresh seafood without all the touristy frills, and it's outstanding. The staff are wonderful people, too, and we've never seen a line there. It's just far enough outside of town that most tourists don't know it's there. Order a... More

What I have learned this trip is Jamaica has moved to ACK for seasonal work. Servers are not trained for customer service across the board. This being said, it's the employers fault . Cheaper labor, make money, who cares. It's disrespectful . I have seen this in many places . The market has a good selection of seafood. 6 or... More

I wanted a BIG lobster. I went to the Stop & Shop. All they had was small ones. We walked a long way to Sayles. It was worth the walk. I left with a 3 1/2 pound lobster! The sales person helped me select the lobster an packed it with a large bag of ice. We cooked it later for... More

If you want good no frills seafood, Sayles is the place to go. Off the beaten path somewhat, but still close in town and to main street. Prices are very hard to beat for the quality of the food we had. Don't miss this gem!

If you're looking for fresh, great tasting seafood, this is the place to go. The scallops were cooked to perfection! It's a little bit of a walk from town but definitely worth it.
