Real New England Chowder

Take out clam chowder was outstanding...and a deal to boot. Although we didn't get to try other items, the lobsters and fish looked great.

So, you are tired of booking tables. You want something not soooo expensive??? But you still want to eat Lobster?? Or a simple Fish and Chips?? Go to Sayle's.... it is kind of fish market, but serves it too. Simple place (!). It was the best lobster I eat. Not fancy, just a straight lobster with sweet corn. So, if... More

This is a classic "eat on the porch" New England seafood place. The food was OK but not the best. For example the fried oysters were overcooked and tough (we had better ones at the Easy Street Cantina). Worth a stop if you are in the area.

Three of us stopped for a light afternoon snack. Initially we were impressed by the vast amount of fresh fish, clams, oysters and lobster on display. Though the place was empty it took 25 minutes to get our order from the register to the kitchen. When our food finally arrived we were very disappointed.. The chowder was watery and tasteless... We did take-out from here early in our trip. It was good, but we enjoyed our meal from Nantucket Lobster Trap more. You definitely would not want to eat in here. There are a couple of plastic tables outside, and maybe even inside, but there is not atmosphere at all. Get your food to go and find a great view... More

Most of what one buys here is ti bring home and eat or cook. One can't find any better seafood on Nantucket. There are a few tables on the porch to eat fresh cooked seafood , if you can't wait to get it back to where your staying. We will be back for sure..

We learned of this place from a tour guide, and are so glad we didn't miss it! We had lunch there on a weekday during a recent 4-day visit to Nantucket. Lobster roll and clam chowder were the real deal! Fresh, perfectly prepared and seasoned, so delicious! For the freshest seafood at a reasonable price, do not miss. Heads-up: all... More

The seafood can't get any fresher than this place! It's actually a fish/seafood market that is provisioner for the yachts. It's actually a take-out place (fresh or cooked), but picnic tables on the porch and to the side of the building are for those who just can't wait to eat. We took a table. And were we ever rewarded! Tucked down at the end of Washington Street is a terrific seafood restaurant and market. Great chowder and fried clams to enjoy on the small outside porch, or fresh seafood at good prices to take home are excellent reasons to go to Sayles on every visit you make to Nantucket.
