Get there early (one hour before sunset) if you want a table. The prices are typical Nantucket (expensive) and the menu is mostly based on seafood options. We only went there for a sunset cocktail so I can't comment on the food.

We received a gift certificate and after reading some of the previous reviews we were wishing it had been for someplace else. Our apprehension was with the service in general and the attitude of the wait staff in particular but that was quickly forgotten as our server, James, was delightful, attentive, and very helpful. Despite being an island, Nantucket has... More

This restaurant was recommended by a friend of mine so we decided to check it out. First, the location is excellent and affords you a great view of the beach and ocean from nearly every table. The menu offered a number of dishes that you might not expect to see on an island setting, such as duck breast, duck egg,... More

It was quite pricey but enjoyed the view. Tables set up under patio or right out on the sand. Great location to town. Food was good but again quite pricey, probably the most expensive place we ate.

Thank goodness we only went there for drinks which were exorbitantly overpriced and poorly prepared. Bartender left a lot to be desired, you'd think that paying top price you'd get a properly prepared cocktail. Too much in a hurry to pay attention to the customer. We won't return even though the tables on the beach provide a nice setting.

Two $200 lunches here. Both times we each had two classes of wine and a salad. The beach location is gorgeous and the food is good, but be prepared to pay for far more than you get. If you are staying at the hotel next door, you won't want to venture to far from the beach -- so you will... More

A short walk from town, this place is part of a club but open to the public. The restaurant is open to the beach, but wonderfully comfortable. Food is delicious and the service attentive. If you are not tied to the beach all day, this is a good place to dine

Beautiful setting. The restaurant is very cool and crowded, but the noise is not annoying. Service is friendly and warm. We went with our kinds (9 and 6) but we felt entirely comfortable. Food very good also compared to our "Italian" standards. Very recommended

.. And still hungry. Horrible service.. Best part was the young smiling girl that thankfully kept getting us water. Had to pour our own bottle of wine. Waitress ignored us for awhile and was coughing everywhere with a running nose (we could see it as she didn't use a tissue) had to ask three times if we could have certain... More

The setting of the Galley is very beautiful, exceptional. The service is quite good as is the food. The one criticism is that it is very, very pricey for the quality and creativity of the menu.
