A short walk from town, this place is part of a club but open to the public. The restaurant is open to the beach, but wonderfully comfortable. Food is delicious and the service attentive. If you are not tied to the beach all day, this is a good place to dine

Beautiful setting. The restaurant is very cool and crowded, but the noise is not annoying. Service is friendly and warm. We went with our kinds (9 and 6) but we felt entirely comfortable. Food very good also compared to our "Italian" standards. Very recommended

.. And still hungry. Horrible service.. Best part was the young smiling girl that thankfully kept getting us water. Had to pour our own bottle of wine. Waitress ignored us for awhile and was coughing everywhere with a running nose (we could see it as she didn't use a tissue) had to ask three times if we could have certain... More

The setting of the Galley is very beautiful, exceptional. The service is quite good as is the food. The one criticism is that it is very, very pricey for the quality and creativity of the menu.

Going to Galley Beach has been on my list for years, and this year we made it happen. You can make a reservation 30 days in advance, and I'd recommend jumping on it as the prime dining hour reservations (6:30-8:30) go fast. We had a beach dining reservation at 5:45 pm and we lucked out with a nice night and... More

A group of friends and I went to the Galley to have drinks before dinner (at another restaurant) - happily, we scored a sofa section of the on-beach lounge area (which can be reserved - and in the future, we will reserve). The cocktails as well as the service were great. Huge, well-made martinis. Lovely cheese plate. The beach setting... More

If you expect a $50 entre to give you a "When Harry Met Sally" table-pounding rhapsody, you'll be disappointed. The food is good and well-prepared. The prices are elevated to include the pleasure of watching the sunset as you dine and, if you choose, the joy of sticking your toes in the sand as you stroll a few feet from... More

great beachside setting, good though crazy expensive (50-60 entrees) food and some of the worst customer service i can ever remember. we had an allergy in our group and when we asked for a modification we were told "it's inconvenient for the chef to make any modifications to the menu" when i tried to explain to the waitress that is... This is one of our favorite restaurants in Nantucket. The food is consistently good, although expensive, and the sunsets are surreal! This is a place that should not be missed when you visit Nantucket.

Beautiful restaurant, great location, overlooking the water. The food is too expensive for what it is though.
