Galley Beach is always special, but could improve. The setting right on Nantucket Sound is beautiful -- for an island surrounded by beautiful beaches, Nantucket has few on the water. The food is delicious, and well presented. On a summer night it can be paradise. Last summer on a chilly night the staff out did themselves, bringing blankets and serving... More

Great view and service. The food was very good but for a retired electrical engineer it was too high brow for me. Had to ask the waiter to interpret the menu and the servings were small.

We sat beachside here for the sunset dinner. Views and sunset was spectacular but the food was overpriced, very small portions, and not anything exceptional. My suggestion is to hang out at the bar and get some appetizers, enjoy the sunset and move on.

We love this restaurant, both for lunch and dinner. If you want to go for dinner, be sure to go at a time when you can catch the sunset. Service is professional, food is delicious and spot on. View can't be beat.

Had a fantastic lunch yesterday! The service was amazing (thank you Ishmael!) and the food was divine (especially the desserts). The wine selected for us by Frank was perfect! Such a wonderful view too (loved watching the storm over the ocean). I will definitely return.

Nicely cooked lamb, fluke, lobster, but what I liked was the attentive staff and the super wine list. In general I was impressed by the Nantucket restaurants' wine selections..heavy on California and France but a gem here and there. I don't know why Oregon Pinot's and Pinot Gris are ignored..opportunity there for Chehalem and the crew. We spent several hours... More

We decided to try the Galley Beach during Restaurant Week. The server and wine stewart were very friendly and helpful in selecting a wine, we ordered and then sat . . . After quite awhile our artichoke heart salads arrived with no artichoke hearts. When we said something the server said she would let the manager know. Then we waited... More

Our food was excellent and the service impeccable. It was our last night on Nantucket and it was memorable. The sunset was stunning and our server encouraged us to stay til the sun set even though we were finished with our meal. We would definitely eat here again if we visit Nantucket again. (A must is the Painkiller from the... More

We decided to grab dinner at Galley Beach. There was only one problem, we our daughter with us and there was nothing on the menu that was kid friendly. This is more a place that caters to the beautiful young crowd that wants to be seen. We felt like were fish out of water. I don't think I have ever... More

We finally had the opportunity to eat at Galley Beach and loved it! We usually travel to the island off season so the restaurant isn't open, but we were able to eat there for lunch on our recent trip. The food was very good and the service was great. We had a bottle of champagne and were able to take... More
