We arrived in the early afternoon and so it wasn't really breakfast we wanted, but what we saw of the breakfast food was good looking and I wished I had gone for it after all. We all ordered the home cooked turkey dinner instead. It would have been superb, but the meat had started to get dry around the edges... More

This place has been around for ever, great breakfast but don't forget to pick up some donuts on your way out.

The breakfast, the coffee, the staff, all deserve 5 stars. This is the place for a wonderful breakfast while on the island. The blueberry pancakes are authentic, delicious and hot hot hot. The waffles are perfect, the eggs are made exactly right, and the coffee is plentiful and flavorful. And the staff at Downyflake couldn't be nicer!! Don't miss this... More

If you want to go out for breakfast while you're on the Island, this is the place. Nothing fancy, just good, solid food and plenty of hot coffee. Parking can be a bit tight at times, but the supermarket is right across the street and you can always park there in a pinch. If you really want to stuff yourself,... More

Do not go into this great place if you are on a diet! The doughnuts are beyond delicious, they are beyond wonderful. Do not even think of having only one. And the coffee is superb. I understand that the regular breakfast is great but I have never gone beyond the doughnuts.

I am so excited that I found a breakfast spot in Nantucket that I like. I have not had such great luck at the other diner-ish type establishments in town – not to mention the waits. We walked to Downyflake one morning – yes it is a bit of a hike from town but we were on vacation, who is... More

This is a restaurant that caters to the residents of Nantucket rather than the tourists. It is located at the rotary mid-Island along with many other year-round businesses. They are famous for their blueberry pancakes, and for good reason. I had to share bites with my whole party! Everyone else enjoyed their egg-based meals - cool to find linguica (Portuguese... More

Large group or small, the Downy Flake can accomodate you. Several large tables for parties of 6 or even more! They have breakfast specials each day - all prepared from scratch right there at the restaurant. Home made donuts all morning long. Great selection of breakfast sandwiches, omlettes, traditional breakfast dishes and pancakes for the kids - chocolate, berrioes, you... More

A diner type cute place in mid island, a little bit of a walk from Nantucket town. Gets packed in summer, not sure if the a\c was working or if they even had any. Not sure what all the hype is @, we enjoyed our breakfasts better at Black Eyes Susans and Fog Island cafe. Not sure @ the donuts,... More
