Donuts

Oh man, the donuts.. We didn't stay for a full sit-down breakfast but somehow ended up here 3 or 4 times just for more donuts (make sure to try them all). Friendly service. Make sure to check the hours before you head over.

Yum! This is really the only breakfast spot we go to on the island. The food is worth the wait (just get there early). And don't forget to get some donuts!!

Sunday morning breakfast before we headed off the Island - where to go??? Answer Downyflake! Where else can you go for a real Nantucket native experience? We waited about 5 minutes - no big deal and were then promply seated and even more promptly offered coffee and freshly squeezed OJ - both delicious. Our breakfasts (Downy omelet for me and... More

Crowded early in the AM.....lines waiting to get in for breakfast. Once seated, the waitstaff is quick and friendly. The portions are large, and delicious. Eggbeaters are an option. Even no sugar pancake syrup is available. The doughnuts are delicious, but definitely over the top for cardiac health!! Lunch.....huge variety of entrees and sandwiches. You owe it to yourself to... The Downyflake is the best on Nantucket for your morning start. The food is great and the prices are too. Never a disappointment there.

Egg scrambles are very good but I really wasn't impressed with their so called famous donuts. Smaller place so we carried out.

Although stepmother still waxes nostalgic for donuts on the wharf, we've been coming for 15+ years. Stick to strengths -- the hottest trays of donuts coming out of the kitchen, warm biscuits, scrambles at breakfast; for lunch, the lobster roll.

Downyflake, famous for its doughnuts, has great breakfasts. It is consistently good, incredibly popular and always a happy experience. I have eaten there at least 100 times. My usual is the granola special: fruit, granola and yoghurt but my special occasion favorite is a short stack of blueberry and cranberry pancakes with real butter and real maple syrup and some... The Blueberry Pancakes are simply the best and the warm donuts ensure a line at the takeout window. Expect to wait but we think it is worth it.

We had brunch at this restaurant which was absolutely packed full of people. We had to wait to be seated, but it was a pleasant experience and the staff were very good. Service was excellent, food was good and price good too.
