Although stepmother still waxes nostalgic for donuts on the wharf, we've been coming for 15+ years. Stick to strengths -- the hottest trays of donuts coming out of the kitchen, warm biscuits, scrambles at breakfast; for lunch, the lobster roll.

Downyflake, famous for its doughnuts, has great breakfasts. It is consistently good, incredibly popular and always a happy experience. I have eaten there at least 100 times. My usual is the granola special: fruit, granola and yoghurt but my special occasion favorite is a short stack of blueberry and cranberry pancakes with real butter and real maple syrup and some... The Blueberry Pancakes are simply the best and the warm donuts ensure a line at the takeout window. Expect to wait but we think it is worth it.

We had brunch at this restaurant which was absolutely packed full of people. We had to wait to be seated, but it was a pleasant experience and the staff were very good. Service was excellent, food was good and price good too.

The legend far exceeded the reality. Got there early on a Sunday morning Waited in line. They ran out. They made more, but do they really only have one baking pan? Dougnuts we're hardly Soup-Nazi worthy There are plenty of alternatives. Most of which come in more than two options

Slow and food a hair below average. If you still want to go, focus on getting a donut and a cup of Jo. And call it a day. Could use a few smiles too.

This is definitely a local spot, and out of the way of most of the tourists. The donuts were amazing and reminded me of my great grandmothers. I had breakfast and my friend had a burger. Both were very good. The service could be a bit friendlier, but wasn't bad by any means. Would totally stop again.

The Downyflake has been an island institution for more years than I can count, and it's a good reason for it. The food is reliable, plentiful, and reasonably priced. Today however, I veered from my usual eggs or omelettes and ordered the hash. Big mistake. It had the texture of something that had been frozen, freezer burned, then thawed out... More

Went for breakfast many times and every time it was delicious and filling. Prices are the best on the island. Locals frequent this spot so you know it's goood. Laid back atmosphere and super friendly staff. Bright, clean, and cheery.
