We went to Company of the Cauldron expecting a superior evening given the price. A single seating, prix fix meal. The seating is very crowded and most disconcertingly, the service was inattentive. The wine list was excellent and not over priced although our wait person didn’t know much about the wines. The lobster bisque was delicious, the salad and lobster... More

This place has a set menu which probably sounds like a pain but everyone sits together, is served together and gets the same thing. There is no wondering if someone ordered something better, no tables being seated while you are eating and you can hear the entire room react to the same thing in front of you. Love it.

This is a prefixed menu, although the food was Okay, really not worth the $70+ price tag. I personally prefer more choices.

There were two seatings for the $70 prix fixe dinner. Food was good, but not remarkable for all the hype I had heard. Interesting wine list and good knowledge by server. May return for special lobster dinner, but regular meal left something to be desired. Service was very good and the room is pleasant.

The food was not good. You are ushered in and out swiftly. It is basically cafeteria eating without the options. We had a lobster and leek hot pocket with a sauce that was doused in sherry, a nut crusted fluke that was overlooked on top and mushy in the middle, and something they attempted to pass off as NY style... Loved this place - a top favorite of wonderful dining experiences! If you want something unique, a bit European with New England thrown in, with thoughtful, creative menus and exceptional ingredients, this is it. Loved everything they served - I don't think you could go wrong with anything they offer. If you don't eat meat, notify them in advance, and... More

It is different....they usually post in morning what they will have in evening. Whatever it is that's your dinner but let me say IT IS FABULOUS. The sauces are spot on, the food never over done and if they have seafood .....get it. It is full quickly so you should try to get a reservation if they will take one.... More

The hype on this place is HUGE. Unfortunately, it did not live up to its reputation. While the food was good, it was certainly not exceptional. The entrée was an uninspiring sirloin served with fingerling potatoes, circa 1990. The blue cheese on the salad, the shrimp, scallops and clam app, and the cheesecake dessert were the highlights. But, again, underwhelming... More

By hubby and I dined there recently. We have visited the island on numerous occasions and this was the first time we could get reservations. The meal was superb! Our meat was the best ...melted in your mouth. BUT....those interested need to remember that it is a set menu, so there are no "swaps'. Also, just wine...would've loved a cocktail... More

Everything about our meal was amazing. Each course was delicious (including the best crab cake I've ever had). Wine selection was fab, and reasonably priced. Given how much it costs to have a merely good meal on nantucket, this was simply wonderful.
