Great dinner and great room

sitting downstairs at the Boarding House takes you away from the streets of Nantucket and you feel as if you are in the galley of a ship. Dark and cool it is a great escape. Nice menu. Simple and wide ranging. The bar upstairs can get a bit noisy but conversations flow easily over well served and... read more

Always a favorite spot of mine for brunch on the island. Great outdoor seating and inventive food. Not your typical brunch menu but twists on the classics. Chicken and waffles and sausage and biscuits were great.

Nantucket is cool in the evenings in May and so I was pleased to dine in a place where the food is simply delicious. Nothing pretentious, just solid good cooking. My skillet cornbread with molasses butter and chowder took the chill off. Only downside was chowder had more broth than anything else, but the broth was hearty and very tasty.... More

Thank you for sharing your experience at The Boarding House. Our goal is to cook from scratch and keep the focus on great ingredients. We love making cornbread in our cast iron skillets, we have been tweaking the fishermen's chowder recipe to ensure it has more pieces of fish and potato. We hope to see you again at The BoHo!... The service was friendly and professional and the food was all fine, if somewhat undewhelming on both visits. The spicy octopus was very good, but the potatoes and olives served with it are a strange pairing and all have a similar texture. The beef carpaccio was also fine, if a bit bland. The fried chicken was very good the first... More

We ate at Boarding House the night of the Kentucky Derby and there was a great atmosphere! The bar was packed and the restaurant was full by the time we left. The menu is smallish, but there were some great choices. Several of us had the fried chicken and it was wonderful. The service was friendly and accommodating. I would... More

Being on Nantucket in mid-April shortens your restaurant list considerably. From the outside the Boarding House looks like you're in for a pub meal as you're looking in at the bar, but the restaurant downstairs is actually quite elegant. Fabulous breakfast/lunch choices - the fried chicken & waffles certainly fills you for the rest of the day, and you're not... More

I can't say how the food is at this restaurant because we didn't stay to eat. we were a party of 9 and were on Nantucket celebrating my 60th birthday at the annual daffodil festival. We decided to hit one more bar for a few drinks prior to catching the ferry back to Hyannis. A clerk in one of the... More

Hello, I am so sorry your experience did not work for cocktails for your party of 9 guests on Daffodil weekend. I spoke with our team and we do normally have reserve signs on the tables we are attempting to set-up for dinner after completing brunch service, unfortunately the signs were not in place and we could have certainly done... This is a "go to" spot when I visit Nantucket. The food is not fancy, but always delicious. The service is always good, the wine list is good, and the decor is beautiful. Walking by the restaurant, you would think it was down in a cellar and not very charming, but in reality, they have beautiful lighting, and it's a... More
