We went to Black Eyed Susan's to enjoy a breakfast. As we approached a violent thunderstorm occurred and four or five of us were waiting in the entry for a table. The staff sent us out into the storm so that their waiters could have more room to move, although they could easily get around us. Didn't stay for the... More

Really enjoyed our experience here. We have had breakfast there before and liked it very much. Dinner was equally as good. Like the BYOB theme for this place. Food was creative, tasty, and presented nicely. Server was low key but friendly and efficient. A/C would have been nice, but the fans did the trick that night. Great place.

Fab breakfast. Loved the black eyed peas with my eggs. Such an unexpected combination but yummy! Would definitely return.

After years of regularly spending a week in the summer on Nantucket, we finally decided to try breakfast at Black-Eyed Susan's. Underwhelmed is how I'd describe the experience. It was fine, but didn't live up to the hype primarily because the experience felt so rushed. We waited only about 15 minutes for our table for 2, but once seated, we... More

First impression of Black Eyed Susan's was the offensively rude hostess who treated us as though we were an inconvenience to her. She made us wait several times to even give her our name and we were told she was too busy for us. We were not singled out, she was rude to everyone. On a lighter note, the food... More

The hostess has no common sense. We’re sitting there after our meal with a pile of cash in front of us waiting for the waiter to take it and bring us change, yet the hostess comes over to tell us not to linger because they need to turn over the table--in which case she could have taken the money herself... Unless you are a very early riser be prepared to take a spot on the sidewalk for awhile. Have only been for breakfast several times and would wait any day for another omelet there. Hearty, hot portions, counter, tables crowded together-feels like a hometown diner.

We had a very good breakfast here - the restaurant was recommended by a local. It is very small and was crowded the day we were there, but the tables turn over relatively quickly so the wait is not too long.

We tried Black Eyed Susan's for the first time after visiting the island for years. Our initial impression was very poor due to the rude greeting of the hostess. She refused to speak to me in the restaurant and made me exit the restaurant to get my name on a "20 minute" wait. While waiting, I observed the hostess treat... More

We waited nearly 40 minutes for breakfast but it was all worth it, our breakfast was delicious and all the fruit ripe and fresh, the entire staff was friendly and outgoing. They do rush you in and out but we understood the nature of a small restaurant. Two thumbs up, thanks Matt.
