Had a delightful dinner there this week. Only reason I withheld one star was the lack of ambiance in the upstairs dining room. We were a large party and I understand why we were not seated downstairs but feels like a closet. Food was very good. Since we were a large party we pretty much covered the entire menu. Only... More

My sister and I went to dinner at Dune after I had gone with my husband last year and really enjoyed it. The outside bar is fun even though it was a rainy evening. I love the atmosphere and the ambiance. The beef carpacio is to DIE for! (And it's a HUGE portion!) I would write more about the dinner... More

The swordfish had so may flavors, it was hard to pick out the fish taste. All of the flavors were good and potent, but it really killed the swordfish taste. Likewise, the tuna was good, but too many flavors. The soft shell crab appetizer was the best thing on the menu, with a chowder flavored sauce that was excellent. Make... More

Just back from wonderful weekend getaway with wife on Nantucket. We made an advance reservation and had high expectations for Dune based on reviews here which were not fully met. Food was basically ok - nothing really grabbed us. Service was sort of rushed and waiters looked pretty burned out even early in the evening. Tuna tartar was only item... More

My first dinner at Dune was last week with friends. Everything was excellent. One had shrimp and 2 of us had tuna. Bert salad was exceptional. Went back with 5 others- 3 had tuna and 3 had vegetarian risotto. Also had buratta and tomato salad +5* again. They will fix vegan and several vegetarian entrees. Daughter and granddaughter went tonight-... More

Charming palce. We ate outside and it was very nice. the waiter told us about the specails and then left when he came bak for our order he was out of the appetizer we REALLY wanted! We ordered soft shell crab appetizer, mozzarella and tomato appetizer, fluke and tuna entrees. There were 4 of us. Our waiter then came back... More

We dined at Dune for lunch over the July 4th long weekend. Very cute little restaurant with outdoor patio as well (thought the inside was nicer) We had the duck confit salad, roasted beet and goat cheese salad and the fish tacos....all great. What I really liked was they had really affordable wines for lunch. For example we had a... More

Our meal was good we sat on the patio which was wonderful except the service was very slow and inattentive . Hoping they were short staffed if not they need to put another waiter to help out.

Most certainly Dune is one of the better restaurants on Nantucket. Centrally located, just a 2 minute walk (0.1 mile) north of Main Street. We had made a reservation using Open Table and requested a quite romantic table for 7:30 PM. When we arrived we were escorted to the outdoor area towards the back of the building. The area is... Excellent service, food was delicious and they have options for children. Space is a bit small but, worth a visit.
