We like sitting at the table with all of the games because who doesn't enjoy a few drinks with some obscure board games. The food is good bar fare but executed well.

A wonderrful place for food and conversation and the up close and personal with the Boston commuter trains. Great location, rustic interior and exterior add to the good experience. Our waitress was very pleasent and informative and served us with pleasure. The entres were presented very well and the food was fresh and delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Summer lunch on the patio: 1. Construction work next door was uncomfortably loud, so we moved inside. Too bad, it would have been a nice day to sit on the patio outside. Management should have tried to come to an agreement with the workers/company so that they could have had a nicer atmosphere for lunch. 2. Lobster salad rolls ($18... More

Tony writes: My wife decided to try this place for a Father's Day meal. The "Irish" (stuffed with corned beef and cabbage) eggrolls were very good. I had the lamb shepherd's pie--the sauce had a proper amount of rosemary and the lamb was tender. I finished off with the carrot cake. My wife went--as expected--for the petit filet mignon with... Hands down this is the best Shepard's Pie I have ever had--including the pie I ordered in a London Pub. The gravy is delicious the lamb shanks are perfectly tender and perfectly seasoned. The carrots are sweet and perfectly cooked and the slight touch of rosemary is fragrant and tasty. This is the dish to have at Stones. I have... More

We sat without being greeted by our waiter for so long I had to inform the hostess that we were still waiting. This, I think, was a consequence of the restaurant being slow. The kind of slow that causes the employees to assume they have nothing to do when in fact there are new customers. On to the food. The... More

My first visit - at the suggestion of a friend who had been - and was not disappointed. There were 6 of us for brunch on Sunday 7/27. We sat inside because it was raining. Plenty of room. The service and food were great and the atmosphere was very cool. I was asking about the history of the place since... More

After our first visit, which we titled "Disappointed" I was contacted by Jim, one of the managers at the restaurant, offering his apologies and emphasizing that our first visit was not typical. After some back-and-forth messages Jim convinced us to give the restaurant another try. We waited a few weeks and my wife made the reservation so we remained anonymous... More

Stone's is a great spot. I actually had my rehearsal dinner here in a private room and it was really excellent. We were very happy with the food and service. I've also been here for lunch, dinner, and drinks and have yet to be disappointed. The salmon BLT is excellent - they do not skimp on the salmon! The best... More

We have gone to Stone's for many years. The menus and people have changed, but the experience is always excellent. The other night my wife and I decided to go out for something casual and inexpensive, and Stone's fit the bill perfectly with great food and ambiance. We sat on the patio, which is so much fun on a nice... More
