Ashfield is a small town almost set back in time, which is a good thing. This old country store has a relaxed atmosphere with a small made to order menu. The menu may not be huge but everything on it looks tasty. The girl at the counter was great, very helpful and friendly. I would like to come back for... More

Elmer's has a cult following, which is partly deserved. The breakfast and lunch food is uncreative, but high quality and well prepared. There are few "industrial" ingredients. Great value for money. Much of it is made there, and locally sourced. That said, dinner is often a disappointment, probably because they rarely serve it. Service can be spotty, sometimes prompt and... More

Elmer's is a hidden gem in the hilltowns of Franklin County. Enjoy having breakfast here, once in a while if the main chef is away some breakfast items come out ok (cold homefries or burnt, very runny scrambled eggs). Never been

Elmer's is a fun place with lots of art exhibited and quirky little gifts and new agey books for sale. The baked goods looked nice, although I didn't have any. What I did have was the pulled pork which was very dry and didn't look or taste fresh. I was hungry so I ate. The greens that went with it... More

Excellent breakfast every day with modified menu on Sunday. Lunch and dinner were a disappointment, but the breakfast can not be beat.

Of course, it is the only breakfast in this small town, but it's worth driving out of your way to get it. Elmer's is the gathering place in Ashfield. It fills up with country folks, young families, and aging hippies, who all dig into the large plates of fresh-made eggs, pancakes, bacon, home-made breads, grilled potatoes, and . . .... More

Friends recommended Elmer's some time ago and finally we tried it. Wonderful! Small, charming restaurant within a small country store, filled with crafts from local artists and artisans. Friendly staff, perfect service, and fantastic, reasonably-priced food...seven seed sourdough bread (and other flavors), eggs, sausage, pancakes, very good coffee, and great "hash-browns" that really must be chopped up baked potato pieces...yummy!... It's kind of small and kind of squished, but a funky fun atmosphere. I love going there for a weekend brunch which can be kind of busy, but while you're waiting, the people are nice and you can chat, there are Orion magazines to read, or you can poke around the store looking at the crafts that folks from the...
