What does creative casual cuisine mean? Exactly what it says. We"re creative, because we reject the same-old-same-old in favor of tastes that are interesting and unique. We're casual because while our food may be worth getting dressed up for, we invite you to come as you are. We're all about cuisine in the sense that our chefs apply high standards of culinary art. There it is. Creative. Casual. Cuisine. If it sounds like your kind of place, then you – like us- are not your average Joe.

Good food

I only tried their jambalaya and meat loaf but both food was great! Not too salty or not too greasy. However there was this once when the waiter never asked me for a refill. Then i finally could get my soda refilled but he never apologized for his laziness. Food wise 5 stars, but service wise, 3... read more

Just got off bike trail in Arlington for lunch. I had an amazing lunch of freshly grilled balsamic salmon. I was offered 2 sides and loved the mix of snap peas and asparagus. My favorite though was the couscous succatash! I did not know there would be pieces of bacon in it but it was so good I just pulled... More

The title says it all! When one starts off with a martini glass that arrives 1/3 empty, the stage has been set. Tried questioning our waiter whose understanding and English seemed to get worse at that point. :-/ Really a rip off. Wine was a good pour but pricy at $11.50 a glass for a house Merlot. Food is ok.... More

A little gem right on Mass Ave with nearby parking and accessibility (my mother is handicapped). Excellent food - definitely a cut above expectations and other NYAJs. Uses fresh, local grown produce - and feels like a family owned establishment not a franchise. Great value too!

The food was decent but they did hit two of my pet peeves. First of all, we ordered our meal and a table with a larger party that arrived after us and ordered well after us received their food first. Second, they removed my plate while my husband was still eating AND they then took the plate from my husband... More

great place to grab a bite and just chill out. It was a surprise to find this place, but the advertising on the front entrance kind of drew us in. Definitely a place to check out for certain.

I really enjoy going to not your average joes! The bread and oil is absolutely delicious and every plate I have tried is awesome! This is a good place for family and friends, or a nice date with cute atmosphere. They also have a bar with a few booths if you prefer to drink. I have come back to this... More

I go there every Saturdays to meet my friends, we sit at the bar and enjoy the nice selection of beers and appetizers! The service is great, especially if you are lucky enough to be looked after by Kasey!

Because we did not want to cook dinner in the heat, we chose to NYAJs in Arlington as we hadn't been to here for a while. We were seated promptly when we arrived with a reservation. Service was prompt and attentive but not overly. A quick response and follow up when I asked if the AC could be turned up... More

NYAJ's is our go-to restaurant. Their menu is creative and the execution is excellent. The rosemary skewered scallops are delicious, and the burgers are as well. The bread and dipping sauce are really good. The only thing I have been truly disappointed in is the take-out service. We have tried it several times, but it has been consistently poorly plated...
