some truly special dishes

A lovely setting, with friendly, excellent service. We liked the mustard vinaigrette salad dressing on the bruschetta and greens appetizer so much we asked for the recipe, and got it! One friend's flank steak with potatoes, asparagus, mushroom and pancetta was delicious. And the duck also was... read more

The food tasted good, but the presentation was bad. Or maybe it was good, but I could not see it because it was too dark. They do provide flashlights – great for camping, not for fine dining. Maybe they want the dungeon atmosphere of seedy pub? I know I exaggerate, but I am making a point. Otherwise, it's a good... More

Had not heard great things about this place but tried it anyways and glad we did. The empanadas were fantastic and my steak was cooked perfectly. Great place to take a date or your wife for a night out.

Very nice hostess and waiter could not help the poorly prepared eggs Benedict. Eggs were more than soft boiled (not runny as they should be) and the sausage underneath was quite dry. The huevos rancheros were OK and grilled cheese was served warm, not hot. Maybe this was an off morning but for these prices, I would expect much more.

It is a rare thing when a restaurant delivers excellence in all dimensions - food, service, atmosphere & price. Tryst does so, unpretentiously, creating an experience that had me wanting to return the very next night for more. The ambiance is modern, clean and comfortable. The restaurant is appointed in leather seating and dark woods with with diffuse lighting and... More

Enjoyed this restaurant very much. Three courses for $33. Really a great deal this month. Grand Marnier creme brûlée was a fabulous dessert. Good sized portions and very nice service. The one thing that I can not understand is that there are multiple tv screens airing different stations. They are on constantly and IMHO a major distraction from enjoying a... More

Went to Tryst with my brother and sister-in-law...their treat! Tryst is is beautiful upscale (but not cost prohibitive) restaurant on Massachusetts Avenue in Arlington. Decor and service...impeccable and professional. We were there for brunch...I had the most amazing wild mushroom omelet...it was delicious. Since dining here, I still have not had anything close to the perfection and deliciousness of this... More

We've been to Tryst a few times. The food is always tasty, well presented, and a bit outside of our comfort zone. Last week's meal was not the exception. The food was very good. However, we were disappointed at a few things. First, since we went the Friday before Valentines' Day, we were limited to the Price Fix menu. Rather... More
