There are plenty of places to eat in a crowded Arlington food scene. But there's a reason Punjab is a local institution. Up and down the menu, their food is simply delicious. It's definitely not the cheapest Indian fare, but it's clearly the best.

Punjab caters to the well-heeled American eater. A lot of the Indian restaurants in the US are dull, drab, not well maintained and suffer from mediocre service. Most Indians are used to such restaurants in India from 1980s-1990s. However, Punjab is different - it is clean and service is top-notch. Food is also good - though not truly authentic. For... More

This restaurant has the most delicious Indian food for all palates. It easily provided space for the 6 of us to enjoy a feast, which was very tasty. the service was very prompt and there were extras for us to enjoy while we waited for the main dishes. Each of the dishes came with sides so we ended up with... More

Had a lovely meal here with three others. We decided to let the waiter choose dishes for us and he made great selections. We had the tandoori lamb, which was succulent, a duck curry, chicken korma and a vegetable dish I can't recall now. The lobster vindaloo was a highlight. Lovely. The naan bread melts in your mouth. Prices are... More

This is some of the best Indian food of ever had. Punjab located in Arlington Massachusetts has high quality food at moderate prices with exquisite taste. Lately there have been a few other Indian restaurants coming in as competition. I like Diva in Davis Square almost as much as Punjab.

We have been regulars of Punjab for years and are in a first name basis with some of the staff. The food is consistently delicious (our faves are plain naan, chicken tikka appetizer, veg samosas, chicken tikka masala, navratan korma, and mutter paneer.) The waitstaff are lovely and the restaurant furnishings are well appointed. We have friends that moved away... More

This was our first visit and it was a delightful experience. Our waitress was friendly and, when unclear about our drink order, returned to make sure she got it exactly correct. Service was prompt and courteous without being at all intrusive. The food had just the right amount of spiceyness (exactly as ordered) and was delicious. Three of us shared... More

I went to Punjab with my daughter, who spent a month in India last summer, to celebrate my 60th birthday. She commented that Punjab's malai kofta compared favorably to what she was served in Delhi. We enjoyed a vegetarian appetizer platter - I wish I had memorized the names of the items, which were delicious. The masala chai was charmingly... More

Punjab is probably the best Indian in the Arlington Center area. Lately, it has become my go-to place for take-out after a late-night class as Tufts or just when there's no energy to cook. I've tried several selections from each of the menu's main sections, i.e. Hot Appetizers, Cold Appetizers, Classic Curries, Favorites, Tandoori, Biryani, and Vegetarian. Part of this... More

Went there with my family -- a total of 6 people. Everyone from my 89 year old mother to my vegetarian-in-training nephew thoroughly enjoyed their meals.
