A seemingly hole in the wall in Arlington. Three 4-seat tables, three 2-seat tables, one 1-seat table, and 6 seats at the sushi bar. One sushi chef, one cook in the kitchen, and one waitress at lunch time. Ordered chirashi, and assortment of nigiri on a bed of rice. Decent, but nothing to write home about. Nigiri pieces were quite... More

This place got rave reviews-- not sure why. Limited bar selection. Sushi okay, nothing special. Udon noodle soup was also just okay.

I took my little sister here as she is crazy about sashimi. We were not disappointed, to say the least. We came at 6 on a Saturday evening so we had to wait over 30 minutes to get a couple seats at the bar (they don't accept reservations). But man, was it worth it. Although it took a little while... My husband LOVES Sushi. His favorite used to be Oishii in Brookline, until we moved to Arlington. Toraya is a hidden gem. This is the real deal. It is tiny, and the wait is long, but if you want really good Sushi, this is THE place to go. If you're not a sushi lover (ie me), well you go because... More

I didn't want to rate this place since I wanted it to be a hidden gem. True Japanese sushi place. You're the biggest fool to order any maki-mono named after animals or locations. It's a good thing they don't even have those "fake" sushi on their menu. Chirashi is probably the best value. And the itamae chef has good nigiri... More

This tiny restaurant serves one of the best quality sushi in Boston. Interior is not fancy and some time you have to wait for seat/food but it's worth a visit if you want to try really good sushi for a change. Even non-sushi eater can be satisfied with variety of box set. I highly recommend this place.
