This restaurant has been here for years but is recently under new management and boy it's fantastic. We started with the Ceviche and was delighted with it. Served with mango, avocado, onion, cilantro and tuna or shrimp. For our main dish we had one order of the Piramide - grilled hanger steak which was cooked to perfection, and the Grande... More

We used to enjoy Olé for its unassuming but delicious food. When it became Zocalo, though, it reverted to the typical pseudo-Mexican food of junky American restaurants. A gift certificate took us back there (with little enthusiasm). We’re happy to report that the restaurant is back to its original quality. The interior is still the same – cozy and comfortable,... Our kids have only ever tried tacos and we all had a taco/Mexican craving Saturday night. I found this restaurant through a Living Social offer. We went early, arriving around 4:30. There was only one other couple when we arrived but several more people were dining by the time we left. My kids both ordered tacos with only beef and... More

I want to start by allowing that my Mexican palate has been horribly blunted by years living in rural northern Montana. Still, me & my wife used to make regular visits to this place while we lived in Boston and nothing had really changed in the years between then and now. Chile Rellenos is the measure I use to judge... More

My wife and I used to go every week. For years we would go for a trusted delicious meal. Hadn't been for a while and stopped by for the old stand by. Inside is the same but when we opened the new menu it was on. All new selections. Fresh salsa and a small container of tortilla chips (so you... More

I love going to Zocalo, usually for take out but it is a great place to spend some time and relax with friends. Couples to small groups seem to have a great time here. The food is excellent and I would suggest adding hot sauce when you can. Burritos are the best deal. Beer and wine is served. An Arlington... More

El Zocalo, is Mexico City's main plaza, and as I found, the name of many Mexican Restaurants, around the world, two of which are in the Boston area alone! So we found Zocalo Cocina Mexicana in Arlington by pure serendipity, given that I was actually intending to go to Zocalo in the Backbay, which was at a considerably farther distance.... More

Good solid place across the board- will continue to return. Can be a bit loud if crowded. Food is very good, would like to see more generous servings.

I have now been here twice, once for lunch, once for dinner, and I can say with certainty that I am officially unimpressed. I find the food to be very bland - I wonder if the chef prepares food from the perspective that 'gringos' don't like or can't handle, spice? Not sure.......... The food was nice in that it seemed... Had a group dinner in the restaurants downstairs room. Very private setting. Great appetizers and entrees. Wait staff very friendly and enthusiastic. We did a table switch after ordering so that people could get to know each other. The wait staff played right along!
