I've eaten all of them and they are ALL amazing. You can smell the butter from the outside. Not huge - perfect sized - rich and buttery and beautiful. I can't decide what is my favorite. The orange chocolate chip, the mint sandwich, the rum ball, the lemon sandwich, the florentine, the linzers???

The choice is varied from delicious raspberry shortbreads to chocolate delights of all types. Cookies are expensive but definitely worth it for a special treat or event. Sold also at other locations.

I've always enjoyed their Florentine cookies when I've picked them up at Formaggio Kitchen in Cambridge, but it was a delight to make a pre-Christmas visit to their shop in Arlington Heights. Full of tasty goodness! Go for their great variety, good service, and wonderful goods. Note: they do not accept credit cards.

This area of the world has mediocre bakeries, in my opinion. Lakota is a brighter light. It's a tiny retail outlet where various cookies can be found, and cakes can be ordered. The taste is good; unfortunately, some goods have food coloring, which limits those allergic to such (as in our family).

I go in here and think I will just by one or two cookies. I never leave with less than six. Macaroons are exceptional and all the butter cookies with walnut or almond are my favorites. If you try a sandwich cookie, you will be blown away by the intensity of the filling. Be warned: you need cash or checks... More

Lakota butter cookies come in every shape for every season and are a hit with everyone we introduce to them. The sandwich cookies are a special treat. Lakota supplies cookiesmto placesmlike Darwin's and Pemberton Farms too.
