Pleasant dining experience

A nice dining experience, a little overpriced and tables were a bit close but the service was very good and the meals well prepared and presented.

We had a business dinner on a Wednesday evening in this place which was more or less empty when we arrived at 18.00. The waitress was nice and managed to serve us in a friendly and descrete way during the whole dinner. The food was good and tasty, but nothing extraordinary, and the wine list contained some good choices at... More

We have been patrons of Palmer's Restaurant for well over a decade, going there for romantic dinners for 2, small family meals, and a few large celebrations with pre- planned menus. The food is always delicious, well-presented. The staff is loyal, accommodating, with many staff members there for many years, forming relationships with long-time patrons. The prices are not low... This is not a rap on the quality of the restaurant, honestly, I couldn't tell you, and here's why. 10 years ago after the birth of my first son, I had a $50 gift certificate to Palmer's. Our only babysitter, my Mother-in-law, wasn't available until 2 days after the certificate expired. I called and spoke with the owner to explain... More

Attended a sit down dinner with my family on Friday night. We were seated upstairs. The party included five adults (one that has trouble on stairs and uses a walker) and two toddlers. Again I'm puzzled with what Palmers is trying to be? Is it an afterwork bar and hangout spot with pub food and a band? Or is it... More

I dined here twice, years ago. First time was good, second time was a disaster, and I vowed never to return. Then I found myself with few options on a Monday, with some restaurants closed, and decided to give it another chance. Service slow. I was served with a dirty glass. Servers are territorial, so I was consequently ignored. Eventually... More

Just a little on the expensive side but the food was really good if you aren't on a budget. The bread was fresh artisan bread. The petite fillet was the perfect size and the profiteroles for desert were wonderful. Enjoyed a business meeting for a change.

Went for dinner with the GF, loved the outdoor seating. Great service, but the food was not impressive. From the start with the clam cowder for me and chicken soup of the day for her, everything needed salt and pepper. With a good amount of both the cowder was real good, the chicken soup was also great. The fish and... More

I visited for the first time this week and was immediately struck by the warm atmosphere and relaxed nature of the eating area in the bar. The menu had plenty of choice. I went for the tuna. It was excellent, seared but still red in the middle and absolutely delicious. Service was fast, efficient and friendly. I can't think of... More

Visited Palmers for the first time (wife has been there before). The menu was very creative, lots of different options. If you enjoy craft beer, this isn't the place for you at all. Everything poured is pretty much your bar normals. Ordered the Sam Adams mussel appetizer, flavor was good, mussels were sandy and it didn't really have any broth... More
