What a great place to get food of any kind. They cater to all; vegans, vegetarians, meat eaters, gluten free, just about everybody. The food is all from scratch, made right in their kitchens. I LOVE their brownies, and wish I could make them even close to as good as they make them. We always use them for functions we... More

Run by a Hampshire College grad where the only drug sold is caffeine (have to go to the college itself for anything stronger). Great coffee, great bakery. Day old baked goods are half-priced for those of us who are not college students and therefore have to use our own credit cards. There is music Friday evenings, and Sunday mornings from... More

Half a sandwich for $4.95? Really? A full size sandwich is $7.95. I expected that since they were offerering half sizes, the overall size must be fairly large and that half would be more than enough. Not so. I got 1/2 a chicken sandwich with roasted red peppers, lettuce tomato and goat cheese on a baguette which ended up being... More

Favorite spot for espresso drinks, which are smooth with an aroma of vanilla, or a light meal or treat.

Great food ordered from quirky lunch selections, freshly made to order. Fantastic baked goods and great coffee. I would eat there daily if it was closer to home.

We did not eat in the restaurant but had their food at a wedding, which The Black Sheep catered. Some of the best and most interesting food I've had at a wedding. It was a buffet and we got to select what we wanted. I had fabulous salads and vegetable dishes.

After touring Amherst College we asked the student guide what he recommended for lunch in town. Without skipping a beat he said the Black Sheep...good salads. The Mediterranean salad was fantastic...comes in full or half size. Full ran just shy of $8 and although I finished it, I would have been more than satisfied at the 3/4 mark....nicely sized for... I have lived in Amherst for 3 years and I just recently visited The Black Sheep..and it was SO GOOD! They have a huge selection of sandwiches, all of which you can get a full or a half sandwich. My friends and I split 4 different ones, all of which were amazing, flavorful, and hearty. Their pastries are ginormous but... More

Had the most amazing cranberry scone and perfectly made americano here this morning. Staff was friendly, line moved quickly, obviously a popular place with plenty of seating for people watching along Main St.

The Black Sheep is a great place for coffee, delicious pastries and breads, or a sandwich for lunch. Comfortable, relaxed atmosphere, just steps away from the Amherst Common.
