Surprisingly Good Mexican Food!

Okay, this is a bar and grill and while the menu has limited options, the Mexican food is quite good. Take it from me, I've lived in San Diego for a number of years and traveled to Mexico frequently. They serve great little tacos, and even a decent Mole Poblano con Pollo! Good beer selection... read more

You'll be luck to find a place in their parking lot unless you come early. The popularity of the place apparently stems from its reputation as a moderately priced watering hole. While you are waiting for a table or booth better have a drink, the place will look better and the food may pass as Mexican after a couple. Personally... More

We have eaten here about 6 times in the past year or so. Never disappointed. Food is excellent, reasonably priced, and service is friendly and responsive. Only drawback is that it is so popular that there are long waits at peak times.

This convinces me that folks in the valley will eat anything, hence the abundance of bad restaurants. This stands out as one of the worst. Chile rellenos (which I have eaten often and also cooked (Diane Kennedy is the bible)) was soft and floppy on the outside (the chile) and looked nothing like the firm green jalapenos you can buy... Not so friendly is how I would characterize this place, and I don't excuse "busy-ness" for that. It may be popular but the three times I have eaten here I have felt the same. Attentive and kind service is important to me. Nonetheless the food is good. Personally I would cross the street, seek out, and patronize the other spot... More

I've lived in Mexico and along the border in Texas and Arizona and I've rarely had better Mexican food. This is a great place and everybody knows it, so plan accordingly. I heard they expanded, so that should cut down on wait times. Come on a week night or for a weekday lunch. Avoid weekends unless you don't mind waiting... More

I went there with a buddy of mine to check it out because I seen it on Urban Spoons web site. It was pretty crowded but we sat at the bar so we didn't have to wait. The bartender ( Greg ) knew what he was doing and knew the menu very well. The atmosphere was traditional Mexican. The drinks... More

Best authentic mexican restaurant in the area! The new addition is amazing and reduced the wait time as this place is always packed. The food is amazing and you must try the margaritas!

The mexican food here is incredibly good with some of the best salsa I've ever eaten. My favorite is definitely the pineapple jalapeño. The taco sampler is a great way to try the fillings which make every dish incredible. The atmosphere and drinks take the delicious food to the next level. Definitely worth the wait and their will defintely be... More

I am giving this place a rating of 10/10 for the food. This a small restaurant but the food is great. I enjoyed my chicken mole and the chicken was juicy and tender with just perfect spices. Please call to reserve if you have more than 5 people going as a group for them to set the table. Highly recommended!
