Great Pub Atmosphere!

In town to visit family and we stopped here for dinner... Despite the crazy weather, the place was packed! I had a Classic Belgian Sour Beer ( my favorite), French onion soup and the Steak Frites for an entree. Everything was well prepared, but a bit salty. Service was slow, but friendly. We ate here on a cold and rainy day. The pub fare was perfect for the afternoon and the atmosphere was cozy. They have some great food and an interesting selection. Though it is not traditional pub eats, it is remarkably good. The beer selection alone makes this place a must visit.

I really enjoyed the selections on the menu. This was the type of restaurant where your read the menu and you KNOW everything must be good and you want to order everything. I was not disappointed! I tried a little of everyone's food in my party and it was great. No wait on New Year's Eve for us. This place... More

Not always sure if you can bring kids in pubs...this is a great setting. TVs for games. Big tables and booths for families and friends. The menu! This was so hard. My husband loved his pulled pork grilled cheese. I started with lemon chicken soup - delicious. Went healthy with beet salad, but that was a tough decision seeing all... More

The Ale House is a huge improvement over its previous incarnation! I love the atmosphere and the food is delicious, particularly the burgers and roast chicken

We arrived in Amesbury at lunchtime with the Pats game about to start. After peering through the window and doing a quick check of tripadvisor reviews, we deemed the Ale House perfect. The décor is warmer and more comfortable than a typical sports bar but TV’s abound. For those TV phobic, as I usually am, there are spots in the... More

We stumbled upon this Ale House as a diversion to Rt. 95 traffic on a summer Sunday night. It was friendly, delicious and had a great choice of beers! We really enjoyed the ambiance and the friendly wait staff. Food was comfort food all the way! A quick side trip off the highway if you are passing by or a... More

The internet should have a slogan of “we’re here for whatever Ales you. It seems that Sunday is NOT a day when you can visit breweries in the area of Massachusetts where we were. So, internet and GPS to the rescue. Arriving a little after noon, the restaurant appeared almost empty. We were warmly greeted by Katrina at the bar... More

Constant Companion and I stopped for lunch. The Ale House is long, fairly narrow, but deep and airy with a lovely high tin ceiling--above average Pub Ambiance!! We were seated immediately for a mid-afternoon brunch at a table overlooking a brook in the rear--surely the best seat in the house. Our server, Caitlin, who as also the bartender was very... More
