We popped in here Friday afternoon for a late lunch and we were glad we did! We sat at the bar - my husband had one of the many beer options and I went for the Lemon Drop Martini - couldn't resist! It was excellent! The fried pickles were one of the first things that jumped off the menu so... More

Fast service, cheap cocktails and good dinner. Always nice to watch any games or UFC fights as well. Our waitress was extremely prompt, food was hot and cooked right as it came out. Thanks very much!

We go here routinely with big groups, and they are always great. Whether it is the fried pickles and burgers, or the amazing short ribs, always great. Not to mention their selections of Gluten Free beers, including my favorite Crabbies!

Wonderful menu with a great mix of healthy & not quite as healthy fare. We started with the pub dip & pretzels - those pretzels were amazing! One of the staff noticed we still had dip left and offered us some chips to finish it off. I had the sweet potato haddock which was delicious (wonder if they would try... More

Ale house is a hotspot in downtown Amesbury MA. The draft beer selections are plentiful and the wine list is also varied. We began with the roasted beet salad which was large enough for us to share. The greens were crisp and fresh with plenty of bleu cheese, figs and roasted beets. Our entrees were a Burger Club sandwich and... More

Good roast beef french dip, 3good sliders. Hot fries, but haddock sandwich was like macdonalds...previosly frozen fish patty! Walnut salad had cinnamon apples, good for dessert but not dinner. Cold. Beer, lots of it.

Just like the title says, the initial invite to the Ale House was well, for beer; that's why you go to a pub/bar... Now, they've got an incredible beer selection, from mild to wild, that will suit just about any fan....but the FOOD! The food is incredible. If I had to think of a place in this area that served... They are owned by the same folks as the Barking Dog up the street. But this is a slightly better level of food choices in a very cool brick setting. Still moderate prices and obviously tons of beer choices. Very good food and service.

I have been to the Ale House a number of times and have always been pleased. The last time though, the service was slow considering it was not crowded. The food was mediocre and nothing special. I think maybe they are focusing more of their energy on their new restaurant in Haverhill then this spot.
